Just saw it on a news flash.....because you know....so much is happening here in Cleveland, that she just checked into re-hab.....not sure if she was checked in by family or by herself.

I also saw that some Cleveland Cops may be mentally unstable.....like that is news

I actually felt really bad for Britney, she really became human to me reading about this and seeing the video. I even felt a bit nasty watching the news clip on it.

Despite thinking that she does look very good with a shaved head, I don't admire it at all if this is some sort of empty image shift ("I'll be more rebellious and Rock 'n Roll! Yeah!!), but it does seem to really fit her, it sorta speaks of a character I hope she is or is becoming. I
I'm not sure if she's going nuts and all that, it struck me as a rejection of that image and lifestyle that her and Paris and such seemed to represent, it would give me a warm feeling if that were true.

But with her website being re-vamped... what? Is it going to be more Real and Hard? Gosh, I hope not.

Since when is shaving your head and getting tattoos losing it? To reiterate a venerable member who also posted in this thread, "Are you sure you're on the right site?"

No, shaving your head and getting tattoos don't mean you're losing it.

HOWEVER, being caught out at 4 in the morning vomiting a couple times a week with two babies at home; checking into rehab and checking out 24 hours later; trying on a cage dancer's bikini in a club; crying in your car for 20 minutes, then going to a hairdresser and shaving your head yourself because "you don't want people touching" you; trying to check into hotels with no money; then going into rehab for the second time in 5 days might add up to "losing it." It's not as if we're picking some girl at random to mock for shaving her head.

Stop acting like a tool.

this woman has had a celebrity life, and i had no respect for her what so ever. but now, this whole shaving her head bit knocked her up many notches. i see it as her saying i don't give a fuck! i'm shaving my head and getting tattoos because this is what i want to do for ME. her doing it in public cant be helped. i imagine anywhere she goes theres SOMEone with a camera just waiting for her to "mess up".
maybe she's grown up a bit. isn't hardship a sign of living, and isn't overcoming obstacles something we as humans strive for and praise?
so why all the hating on her for doing THIS?

I neither celebrate, nor admonish the media for the coverage of Britney Spears. I believe that she makes her own bed & lies in it. There are plenty of big-time stars that you never hear about in the gossip columns and never see on the cover of STAR magazine.

When is the last time you saw Edward Norton on Entertainment Tonight?

I think it's completely possible to be famous & still lead a relatively private life.

i think you have quite a point,

but i think it depends on the kind of fame your famous for, dose this make sense? if Edward Norton went out and got drunk and did drugs who's gonna care, he can do what he wants, more or less so long as he doesn't do something incredibly stupid he's generally left alone as his 'fame' is centered around his films and thats it

if Britney dose it its a big deal because she was once marketed to young kids as well as having to use every inch of her life to keep on top of the fame game. so now they follow her to get more stoireys for the shit magazines that thrive on her actions,

there fame is also markerted at different people. I'm a fan of Norton, i just like his films i don't care what he dose, but fans of Britney want to know every detail of her life, her fame wouldn't have been there from the start if she had stopped people knowing about her every day life. (I'm genraliseing with the fans thing here)

from my own experience of the uk press. in the shop i work in, we sell many things that are a bit odd/kitsch (Britney came in one in fact) now we get a few local celebrities in the shop. one being Jorden another is Chantelle(media whore's in the uk) anytime they come in i could tell Heat magazine (crap celeb mag) what they got and people whoudl be genuinely interested.

now when Nick Cave comes in, no one will give a shit about what he buys

basically what I'm trying to say is that your private life is dependent on what kind of fame you have, Britney's is very much a 'what is she doing now' 'what did she have for tea' style, Norton is 'new film out' 'new film out'

do i even make any sense with what I'm saying? i feel like I'm rambling. sorry

I don't think that's what livefastdieprett meant. Britters is seriously fucked up, bald/tattooed or not.

I agree with PointBlank.
Too many people here are getting defensive with the "OMG how does shaving your head make you crazy!?!111" whatever

Love and support vibes her way.

I've always thought she was beautiful and a talented performance artist (emphasis on the dancer / performer, rather than singer). I have definitely been upset to the point that a drastic physical change was necessary..

I wish her the best, and hope this heralds a more indie / punk individual Britney.

Also? Someone introduce me to her. I want to be her friend. And / or bone her. In a respectful way. Truly. She looks like she could use a friend, or a heavy romp.

I did some e and bit my lip- where's my news coverage?

I hate this culture. Round the clock britney updates! Lets cover this on the news! Yay! Excuse me while I gag at what constitutes as a breaking story on television these days [Anna Nicole anyone]. If through some butterfly-effect-chaos shit her shaved gutter-ball of a maw causes some good in the world we will have trampled it down with the energy wasted in googley-eyed surmises.

new life goal = fame. So much so that I can't bump a left-cheek sneak without the press wondering.. just why did that happen?

You do make sense, i find it kind of disturbing actually but i have to disagree slightly. Norton is incredibly talented, all he has to do is show up and do what he does, he doesn't need a media circus so he doesn't have one Britney like many like her and like many actors is basically built on hype and stories in the press. There are thousands of girls out there with more talent and that are far better looking, without the press attention she would be just another fan. It is something that the Britney 'company' did on purpose and keeps doing on purpose. It's ye old sell your soul to the devil thing and there is no going back if you want to stay on top or even close to it.

What im saying is that it is more to do with lack of talent than type of fame, and in the end it's their own decision. I feel sorry for her cause she was too young to know any better but i'd bet she's have made pretty much the same choice later in life, if it had turned out that way.

You cant have your cake and eat it.

The fact that this event was Primetime news worthy is beyond comprehension. Thanks you ABC News for the "new information" on "what a bald Britney Spears was doing and saying" in some goddamn tattoo shop. Now, I'm not preaching, "Who gives a fuck?" because, quite honestly, we as a culture thrive on this kind of news ("we" as a majority, not *you* in particular). I see Britney's latest actions as a last ditch effort to lose her identity, a cause set in motion that will inevitably remove her image from the limelight. My heart goes out to her because in a sense she has been molded to the desires of popular consumption, for the greater good of Pepsi profits and so forth, and regardless of her talents and wealth she has forfeited her Self (or at least a large portion of her soul) to an industry bent on exploitation. Some people might say, "Well look at all the money she made?" Suck it. With all those bucks she can never buy back her anonymity. I find the fault in both the industry and the consumer, because quite frankly it's become impossible to differentiate between the driving force of pop culture. Are we being told what we want, or are we getting exactly what we're asking for? I honestly have no fucking clue anymore.

Also, I think she looks pretty cute with her bald head.
