Drinking isn't really all that fun, unless you do it in a crushed crimson smoking jacket from a glass made from Murano Glass while sitting in a plush leather chair.

Oh, and cognac.

I'm kind of shocked that no one has mentioned this and/or gave this guy shit about it but... your first drink is at 21? Dude there is not one person I know that hasn't got drunk by the age of 16, AT LEAST shocked

I was 18 the first time I got drunk.

Me too. The summer after high school. Didn't really drink much except for holidays until I was in college though.

I didn't get drunk until I was 18 and in college. My neighbor Buffys' Halloween party + keg of Rolling Rock = Drunk Snake.

Wow. American teenagers lead sheltered lives.

I suppose the fact that you can do a lot of drugs in high school makes up for it, though.

Yes. Choosing not to drink means we were "sheltered." whatever

I was under the impression that you guys weren't drinking much as teens because booze isn't very freely available to the underaged.

If I'm wrong, then feel free to substitute "well-behaved" for "sheltered," if you prefer.

"See, that's what we call a false syllogism."

Why should people give him shit about not drinking before a certain age? I've never understood this mindset.

I didn't drink until I was 22, and had no desire to do so beforehand. Some of my friends who are over 30 still have never had a drink, and probably never will.
