Tattoo Advice: Palm

I was wondering if anybody had gone through the experience of getting a palm tattoo? I'm in the middle of getting a gigantic rib piece, and I'm already planning ahead to the next one. I was just wondering if anybody could shed some light about their experience with this type of tattoo and any do's and don't's.

Anything is greatly appreciated.

I'd imagine it would be a huge pain in the ass while it healed.

I can't see this working. I don't have any well-thought-out rationale for that, but I can't see it working.
