Honestly, if she planned it for several years and then masturbated while thinking about it in the bathroom while it was happening, I still have trouble understanding any punishment more severe than firing her and maybe some community service. 40 years is fucking absurd on every level.

the DA should go to prison for bringing this case and the Jury should be castrated for being mentally incompetent. A complete injustice.

If it were Catholic school.........maybe I could understand a little bit more. I went to Catholic school for 12 years and they were pretty afraid of the human body in its natural nude state. But seriously. Public schools? And I doubt the kids actually were upset about seeing naked people...they probably told their parents and they were the ones that freaked out...Honestly...it's just nudity! AND 40 YEARS? Murderers get off with less than that half the time, or they get off early on good behavior.

40 years is rediculous. its sex, sex is a natural thing in life. All these children would have A- eventually seen porn on their own, B- seen sex on tv, and C- hopefully have been taugh what sex is!

People in this world need to stop treating sex like its murder. If she actually did show those kids porn on purpose, which it doesnt sound like she did, then take away her teaching priveledges, and maybe some community service. Are we going to start throwing people in jail for being sexually active? This is stupid.

I followed mister Swift well enough, but then he was somewhat on point. Even giving you the benefit of the doubt and accepting that that was sarcasm, it has nothing to do with anything in the thread.

Eh, the kids couldn't have been too phased by it. I know that when I was in seventh grade I'd already seen tons.of porn. Of course, most of it was stuff I stole from my dad's secret stash of 70's porn. Imagine my surprise when I finally saw a naked chick from the 90's and saw that she didn't have a giant bush. But that's besides the point.

I know that in one of my graphic design classes in college, one student got nonstop porn pop-ups that she could just not get rid of after searching for pictures of flowers. So yeah, I don't really see how this couldn't have been anything other then an accident or the fault of a room full of klds just beginning puberty who weren't properly supervised.

You should probably double check your personal "inner dictionary." I hate to break it to you, but spending time on these here boards doesn't make you an expert in anything except perhaps "assholery." You didn't get the irony, you didn't get the joke, you made an ill-conceived personal attack on a stranger (as happens so often with the assholes on these boards) and now you're trying to save face. You could apologize, admit you didn't get it and move on, but no. You're really going out of your way to be an insulting dick.

the possible sentence is ridiculous. the DA drop the case? hmmm. i guess it's not what they saw, but the fact that they are not there for pornographic enlightenment. if she purposefully showed them pornographic websites, how is that not even the slightest bit inappropriate? we all are literate adults so of course we see how absurd it is from our perspective. but unless you travel back in time to when you were 12 years old i don't know if you can speak on the students behalf.

we learn about the world in our own ways at our own times. i know porno isn't bad but should she be the supplier?

Whatever the circumstances....40 years is an abomination. In the worst case scenario...a slap on the wrist and a stern "Don't do that again" would suffice.

In England a paedo just got let out after, get this, 40 weeks. Why? Cos we have NO spaces left in prison. Not one. The "authorities" are having to chuck people out to find the room for the rookies!!

Over here it's practically impossible to get forty years imprisonment...for anything!?!
