Jerusalem-born Natalie Portman may be set to give directing a try. She's expressed interest in attaching herself to a possible film adaptation of A Tale of Love and Darkness, Amos Oz's memoir/family history.

A Tale of Love and Darkness describes Oz's upbringing in Jerusalem amid the fighting during which the Jewish state was founded. Israeli media said Portman was interested in playing Oz's mother, who committed suicide when the author was a youth.

Portman has met with Jerusalem Capital Studios to discuss both acting in and directing the project. A Tale of Love and Darkness is thought to be the biggest-selling literary work in Israeli history.

Lets hope she can rekindle some of what she lost because of those nasty Star Wars movies!

Go Natalie!

Natalie Portman has an Erdős number. If that's not sexy, I don't know what is.

Maybe she can make some frustratingly self-consciously 'quirky' films like Zach Braff does.

Or maybe she won't...who knows.

Would she be interested in Lesbian Threesome III: The Reckoning though?

It might even surpass Where the Heart Is.

Sounds good. She'll probably do really well with it, get a lot of acclaim and then just coast on her reputation for another decade and a half like she did after Leon.

Where the Heart Is actually isn't bad for a chick flick.

The most interesting part of this thread was the Erd?s number, which I previously knew nothing about. To Hell with a great personality, charm, intelligence, or good looks; from now on, I'm going to ask all of my dates what their Erdos number is. And then see if they want to publish a paper together.
