but the fact is, students need to understand the difference between standing on the shoulders of those they deem great versus stepping on their faces.

i have reported painters at art shows for deliberately opening up their communication arts illustration annual and copying page by page of their favorite illustrator's works to sell for close to what the original artist sold their 1st usage rights for. now i know there is a difference. fuckers, keep your copies to the class room, trade them with your friends, hold on to them for your apartment, but selling full rights to anyone is wrong. you don't have to make art to sell it and profit from it. and most people out there seriously don't know the difference.

i applaud photographers for standing up for their work. not that i think all of them are that talented, but it's their right to educate others as to what makes one shot better than another. (even if they make a bit of an ass of themselves in the process.)
