Has anyone else ever taken shrooms and experienced a spiritual revelation?

What were your experiences?

My body thought it was dying so I saw some neat stuff. And I took some fairly decent pictures. Pretty much end of story.

I spent two days on the bowl with diarrea

my friend and i had a twenty minute conversation about tiny cities inside cracks in the wall. we listened to Godspeed You! Black Emperor and laughed for a long time about how great life was. it isn't something that i want to do all that often (it's really exhausting!) but i definately understand how you feel.

I normally have really good experiences with drugs (except that dirty devil weed), but I once had a much too big handful of shrooms kick in half way through a shower in a little experience I like to call my Chinese Water Torture Hell. I don't get meaningful stuff on shrooms, they're just too mellow (if taken in quantities reasonable for one human being).

Meh. They tasted like feet and hurt my stomach. But Great Teacher Onizuka was pretty neat. Not exactly super magic happy fun time, but ok.

I love mushrooms. I love hitting the town and the clubs when im tripping. It takes a little bit of getting used to big hectic crowds when your tripping. But fuck..Its awesome.

Its very spiritual. Really does squeege your 3rd eye!

I don't know if it was spiritual or not, but I really enjoyed watching people play wiffle ball when I took some mushrooms.

Everything I thought I learned on lsd turned out to be utter bullshit. But that's more a reflection on me.

Uhm, yeah, once I did it at my best friend's sister's house in Tampa, and I saw the face of Jesus on the wall.

Then the shrooms gave me terrible indigestion and chest pains, which I mistook for a heart attack under the influence.

It took me a while to get used to the sensation, but the few times after that I did them, I was fine.

I figured out most of my record collection.

"Wait, these dudes were on DRUGS when they recorded this!"

I saw my friends age in front of me.

I listened to a friend scream at God in the middle of the field we were camping in.

I threw up.

All I learned is that when I'm on LSD my ceiling looks like rolling golden sea.

And that people can't get their hands off of you when you listen to Godspeed you black emperor! and do drugs.

everything is going to be ok.
you are not your body, but please, feel free to enjoy it.
heaven and hell are issues of perspective, and you are welcome to change your perspective at any time, and over and oer again, as you wish.

I had some friends who sat around in a park writing letters to Jesus while on 'shrooms once.

My favorite letter began, "Dear Jesus, this is a group effort."

They are fun. Almost lost my mind in Amsterdam.

I experimented with them back in the day, but I seemed to be able to shape a trip while on LSD but on 'shrooms, if there were the slightest thing wrong in my life (and there's always WAY more than the slightest), it rules the experience and I dwell on it. So, I learned early it probably wasn't a good idea to keep choose them over acid when I was likely to bum on them, but with acid was almost always guaranteed a good trip (and some bad thing happened on acid, but I was able to deal with them).

The one good 'shroom time was in college in Washington DC in 1982. I had a diorama sort of thing under a spare desk in my dorm room (I was alone in a double room) of a miniature Cretaceous period, complete with models of the era's flora and fauna.

When the inevitable Bad Thought Daemons began to afflict me, I sat cross-legged and began my usual pre-meditation mind-cleansing. Then the show began.

I didn't know the dinosaurs were alive.

They saved my mind that night.
