NEWS: Zooey Deschanel Lands 'Gospel' Role of a Lifetime

I don't know. I like Zooey Deschanel, but I can't really see her as Janis.

I'm rooting for her, but, despite good performances, recent music biopics (Walk the Line, Ray, etc.) have been rather weak. I hope this one is different.

I think she'll be great. Pink's really 'fuck establishment, yeah, look at me, I'm fucking with the ESTABLISHMENT' dismissal of the role maybe just shows she either a) can't handle the role or b) just wasn't good enough anyway. Glad they cast Zooey, she'll kick ass.

My thoughts exactly, but I know she can sing a bit... just not near like Janis...
