oh man, how could i have forgotten Salute your shorts? Well after they shipped off that whiney little bitch kid from the first season. you know the one that Budnick made a wuss hat for. That has got to be my favorite memory from that show. Budnick takes the kid's stuffed hippo and starts DUCT TAPING IT TO HIS HEAD! The kid just sits there and lets him and just asks 'what are you doing?' So Budnick says 'You're a wuss, so i'm making you a wuss hat.'

I remember that.
I envied how Budnick gave Dina that guitar pic. I think it was in a ring box or something...? I always thought that was so romantic and wished a guy would do that for me when I grew up.
I was a weird little girl.

I adored the Banana Splits show. Seems to be the one show that I mention that NO ONE remembers. I find myself singing the theme song in my head when I'm really bored.

I remember the Banana Splits. I wish I didn't...

You mean the one where you would shoot back at the t.v.?

Oh man. I saw the episode of Law and Order where Mark Linn-Baker plays a quiet accountant with Asperger's Syndrome who kills all these people to try and get money in the hopes of winning his estranged wife back, and he tries to make it look random but he keeps repeating this specific geometric pattern. It was so, so sad and I was like COUSIN LARRY, NOOOOOOO!!!! frown

I loved Pufnstuf when I was a tyke. Later I found out it used to freak out my brother. I've heard some other people say it spooked them, too. I always loved it though, as far as I recall.

I hated Pufnstuf.

All in the Family, The Brady Bunch, and reruns of Bewitched. Bewitched was great.

Uncle Arthur, and the perverted old pharmacist who always chased Sam around the lab.

Not to mention the dueling Dicks. Put their names together and it became Sargent York.

I was so looking forward to the original concept of the Bewitched film. Not the awful thing we ended up with, this I was reading about on UseNet around the time they made the Brady Bunch movie. Robin Williams as Uncle Arthur, and mid-way through the movie they would switch actors playing Darren with no explanation given (just like the series).

That one would be Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future.

The Lazer Tag show was "Lazer Tag Academy," though I seem to recall that one of the Lazer Tag competitor toys had their own show as well (Photon? Something like that.)

Some of my favorite shows while growing up:

Robotech
Thunderbirds 2086
The Dick Van Dyke Show (gotta love/miss it when local stations scheduled nothing but black and white shows in the daytime)
The Millionaire
The Price Is Right
Night Court
You Can't Do That on Television
the various Shari Lewis/Lamb Chop shows
the various Mr. Wizard shows
Out of Control
Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
Captain Kangaroo
late-night Cinemax and Showtime "erotica"

And my least-favorite, which managed to still scar me horribly: Nickelodeon's Pinwheel. I swear that the show lasted 4 or more hours a day (and was paired with the equally horrible Today's Special). It was like a bad Sesame Street rip-off that simply wouldn't end.
