Do you realize that Grey Goose is made in France? And did you know that the brand was created by an American billionaire who had the specific thought that making it in France would give it extra credibility? Shit. I'm already the tool of one American billionaire with all the fucking Microsoft products I buy. And France? Not the first country I think of in terms of quality, vodka or otherwise. Belvedere is from Poland, Absolut is from Sweden, and Effen is from Holland. Besides Stolichnaya, there must be some other easy to find, quality Russia vodka, right? If not, I guess I'll go with the Scandinavians...

Who cares where it comes from as long as it tastes right and gets your buzz on?

True Russian vodka, the kind you can get in Moscow from the corner kiosk at 4 a.m. for three bucks, is Gzhelka

I'm sure the recent development of the whole super-premium market space in alcoholic beverages isn't entirely marketing. Right.

I could care less who makes Grey Goose or where it is made. The only thing that matters to me is how it tastes when I am drinking my Gibson.

No shit. Nothing funnier than someone ordering Grey Goose or Belvedere in their Vodka and Cran.

I don't notice the difference in a drink with a strong juice or other flavor in it but if I'm having say a gin and tonic, it had better be tangueray or better or puke.

wow, that makes me feel less bad about myself and my uneducated palate. especially when it's combined with other things... i can't tell the difference okay? it all tastes like burning.

though i did enjoy watching the mythbusters where they did a vodka taste taste and graded them all in terms of quality. mostly i enjoyed thinking about how poorly i would do at that test.

Gin, more than most booze, has a much larger difference in taste between the cheap stuff and top shelf. If you go to a bar and just order a vodka cran, the well vodka probably won't make much difference in the taste. But well gin is just god fucking awful. So yeah. NEVER order just a gin and tonic.
