What gives this story credence, IMO, is the entry on IMDb.

That entry's been there for a long time. Along with Spielberg's Lincoln project which is due out the same year. Not that that's anything nearing impossible for Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park and Schindler's List both came out in 1993, which is really astonishing), but IMDB entries don't mean much and Lincoln, last I saw it news stories (admittedly a while ago), was stalled.

But as far as I know they never both announced they were happy with a script. Last I knew Frank Darabont wrote a draft, Lucas didn't like it, and Darabont got all pissy.

It's not concrete, but I would expect to see this film appear soon. Otherwise all participants will be too old to pull it off.

this movie should be good. even if it isnt im still gonna enjoy it. such a throw back. and from what im hearing... not that its 100% true, but the story is supposedly revolving around the spear of destiny.

According to legend, the Spear of Destiny (also known as the Holy Lance, Holy Spear, Lance of Longinus, or Spear of Longinus) is the spear that is reported in the Gospel of John (19:31-37) as having pierced the side of Jesus during his crucifixion. supposedly during ww2 it fell into the hands of adolf.

for more check out spear of destiny

Interesting. The other thing that links the two good Indy films is a bible-related artifact. I couldn't give a hoot about the bible the rest of the time, but it helps make life interesting for Indy.

Interesting how when all else fails, people blame George Lucas - 'coz, y'know, it's gonna be his fault regardless. If the catering wasnt' going too well, I gurantee fans would blame George Lucas. He invented the story; I'd say he's a pretty good judge of what kind of script would be good enough (see Raiders, boys) - and remember this is Indy, not Star Wars.

And now it's gonna have to happen. I wanna see Indy again! And it's going to happen. FOCUS PEOPLE! SUPPORT! SUPPORT!

And then there is also
The Libraian:Quest for the Spear, which was an indiana jones like TV movie revolving around the spear of destiny.

Rocky Balboa has a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Just because it's a sequel doesn't mean it's going to be bad.

so, i went to best buy today and asked for the indiana jones box set. the guy had no idea what I was talking about. that would have been fine if it was because he didn't know there was a box set. he didn't know who indiana jones was though. you should not be gainfully employed at an entertainment store and not know who indy is. I mean really. indy. thats like... hmm i was about to say han solo... seriously though, how could you contain the ass kickery of indy and han solo in one man? Ford kicks ass, i look forward to seeing an old Indy.

I work for Target and am in charge of the movie, music, book dept. I couldn't keep the Indy box set in stock all Christmas. I'd have some, then poof..all gone!

Sad when people don't know shit about entertainment. I love my dept tongue

My brother and I were just talking about this movie over the holidays.

I think Lucas is too busy counting his money to focus on this flick. Harrison Ford is not getting any younger. *pouts*

When I was in college I ended up taking a trip down to Florida with a Youth Group I was working with. The trip was about 48 hours non-stop by bus so we brought tons of movies along just to keep everyone entertained. One of the movies i broguht was "Raiders of the Lost Ark"
The first thing i heard after putting it in was "oh! That looks so old, its going to be boring". That lasted, maybe, 10 minutes; by the end of the movie all of the kids were looking at me and saying "That was great! Did they make any more of those!?" smile Sadly, I didn't have "Last Crusade" with me; that was the first live action movie I saw in the theaters with my Dad.
