Faulkner and Dostoevsky will be on the bottom, and someone like Pahlaniuk will be on the top I bet. Ugh.

Anyway, it's great you did this.

But maybe, instead of listing a book a day, you could give us ten at a time (otherwise, we won't be done until April)?

I thought I was alone in not liking Chuck.

Yeah, it would be awesome if you gave us a couple at a time!

Book Number 98

"My left arm. I wonder what they've done with it. When you cut a man's arm off you have to do something with it. You can't just leave it Iying around. Do you send it to hospitals so guys can pick it to pieces and see how an arm works? Do you wrap it up in an old newspaper and throw it onto the junk heap? Do you bury it? After all it's part of a man a very important part of a man and it should be treated respectfully. Do you take it out and bury it and say a little prayer? You should because it's human flesh and it died young and it deserves a good sendoff."

I don't think there's anything wrong with people's favorite books being contemporary ones. It's not like they're being ranked for quality.

book number 95

"Fire, loveliest of the four elements of the world, and yet an element too in Hell. While it burned adoringly in the core of the Temple, it had also scorched the life from a city, this night, and spewed its venom over the land. How strange of God to speak from a burning bush, and of Man to make a symbol of Heaven into a symbol of Hell."

THat's it, I disavow any relation to this list. Chuck does NOT trump my Fyodor. Not now, not ever!

If you had asked me what SG would pick as the top authors, I would've gotten 8 right. I would've added Heinlein and Asimov instead.
