You gotta love when cops give back to the community. Officer Barry Cooper a celebrated narcotics agent who has more than 800 arrests to his credit, with seizures totaling more than 50 vehicles and $500K is lending a helping hand to those in need. He's gonna teach the people how to "Never Get Busted Again."

Barry Cooper, who has worked for small police departments in East Texas, plans to launch a Web site next week where he will sell his video, "Never Get Busted Again," the Tyler Morning Telegraph reported in its online edition Thursday.

A promotional video says Cooper will show viewers how to "conceal their stash," "avoid narcotics profiling" and "fool canines every time."

Cooper, who said he favors the legalization of marijuana, made the video in part because he believes the nation's fight against drugs is a waste of resources. Busting marijuana users fills up prisons with nonviolent offenders, he said.

"My main motivation in all of this is to teach Americans their civil liberties and what drives me in this is injustice and unfairness in our system," Cooper told the newspaper.

The website will go live this Tuesday, because Cooper didn't want to jeopardize his chances of staying in Santa's Nice List. By this time next year he'll be rolling in dirty money and won't need Santa's busted ass presents anyway.

The authorities aren't so happy with the site and are investigating ways to prevent the site from going live.

News of the video has angered authorities, including Richard Sanders, an agent with the Tyler Drug Enforcement Agency. Sanders said he plans to investigate whether the video violates any laws.

"It outrages me personally as I'm sure it does any officer that has sworn an oath to uphold the laws of this state, and nation," Sanders said. "It is clear that his whole deal is to make money and he has found some sort of scheme, but for him to go to the dark side and do this is infuriating."

Smith County Deputy Constable Mark Waters, a narcotics officer, said the video is insulting to law enforcement officials.

"This is a slap in the face to all that we do to uphold the laws and keep the public safe," he said.

Really, what Cooper should do is try to get a job on CSI or Law and Order as a consultant. Everyone know criminals are getting better watching those shows and who is going to pay a website when they can watch it on TV for free?

You can hide more than pot with his methods I'm sure... I really don't think this is a good idea at all.

Is it called "when cops go wild"? Good to see someone take a stand for common sense. (That the war on drugs is bullshit, that is)

OR its an elaborate scheme by police to make drug smugglers THINK they have a fool proof method BUT all the tips in the video are the first things the cops look at thus busting even more people.

I'm pretty curious to see if the cops will find a way to make his site illegal. I think it would be an infringement of his freedom of speech if they did. Additionally, if anyone does download this video, please please give the rest of us the lowdown. I wouldn't want to encourage any 'illegal' activities like pirating the video...but it would be damned cool..hehe

here's a link to the MSNBC story, including a video of his interview with Tucker Carlson, in which Officer Cooper handles himself quite adeptly. when Carlson tried to defend prohibition, Cooper says prohibition has failed since day one, when there was adam and eve and only cop, god, and they still ate the apple. and his preference of arresting 500 marijuana users to one alcoholic, because they are
nice, polite, and don't resist arrest, while the alcoholic will defecate on the back seat and throw up, is quite funny. 750,000 locked away in "government cages" a year for pot crimes.

Honestly, they want to keep the public "safe" from pot smokers? WTF?

The War on Drugs has always been a war on SOME drugs. It's really a war on a subculture, and the white boys in suits are spending a fortune waging it. But it can't be won. As someone pointed out above, when there was only one man, one woman, and one cop in the garden, they still ate the fuckin' apple.

And so it shall be. Forever and ever, amen.

never understood why a plant that grows naturally is illegal, yet alcohol has to be made, and it's legal. whether naturally or in a brewery, it still has to be made somehow, and marijuana just grows O_o
next: rosebushes illegal because some dumbass pokes himself on government property and sues.

Even if it's tips on hiding that not many people know, the cops will get ahold of it and if it's not stuff that they already check for it probably will be in the future. some info should just be kept secret, I bet the cops will find some way to record and lok up every email address and credit card number that website gets.

Gotta love it when cops come to their senses and realizing that it's all just a waste of time.

My argument for legalization has been the cops are spending all this time and money busting (otherwise law-abiding) pot smokers pointlessly, yet, how many unregistered sex offenders are still running around these days?

Priorities.

My guess is that a number of police officers feel the same way this guy does in regards to non-violent drug related offenses but he had the guts to actually stand up and say something. Good for him.

While it may well be a cop's honest attempt to help potsmokers and clear out some cells, the tips provided will assuredly be rendered impotent as it won'e just be the tokers watching.

Cops will see (or have a copy already), or for all we know Enmity is correct --it's an elaborate sting to collect names. Anyway, it's funny as hell and deals a black eye --not only to the bogus "war on drugs", but also to that fake-ass propaganda mill known as thetruth.com

Uh, what? Thetruth.com is an anti-tobacco site funded by tobacco companies which has nothing to do with drug enforcement.
