Okay, that headline is totally inappropriate and misleading. Or is it? According to the owner of Christina Ricci's biggest fansite, Ricci is the fashion equivalent of a baby seal killa. "Dodger," as Ricci's former biggest fan calls himself, has taken the site offline, claiming that he has a problem with people who wear fur.

From his site:

Offline due to fur usage

Well, that's it. I've had this Christina Ricci fan page for almost 8 years (since januari 1999), but I recently found out Christina doesn't appear to have a problem wearing fur. Well, I do. I also have a problem with people who wear fur. Conclusion: I have a problem with Christina. And now that problem is solved, because I don't have a website about her anymore, so I no longer have anything to do with her.

Whatever, right? Right, except that "Dodger's tops all other fan sites when Ricci's name is plugged into any number of search engines. In other words, his anti-Ricci venom has the potential of reaching a major chunk of Ricci's most rabid fans."

Dodger's now defunct Ricci site hosts a link to PETA2, and offers a couple of humane dark-haired beauties to worship instead of the Dodger-accused baby seal killa.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I'm kidding, before anyone gets on my case. Besides, it would smell horrible if I ever got caught in the rain.

I still don't understand why those baby seals keep wearing that damn mink fur, don't they know it will lead to a clubbing.

I'm not into fur either, but I wonder why everone gets all bent out of shape about fur but is ok with leather. I guess it's easier to dump fake blood on fur wearing older rich people than leather wearing biker dudes that would kick your hypocritical ass.

Actually, that's not fur she's wearing. It's hair, woven into a coat. She must have shaved it off of Adam Goldberg's back at some point when they were going out.

(This is my rationale for maintaining a super crush on Ms. Ricci since seeing the Adams Family movie when I was 11.)

Very good and interesting point. I think people have an easier time disassociating leather from the animals it comes from, partly because of the way it's processed, and partly because it's a much more common material. I consistently encounter people who don't even know what "meat" is, though...so there you go.

Good for Dodger.

Evidently atrocious acting is among the least of Ricci's faults.

What do you mean, they don't know what "meat" is? HAve you actually met someone who thought meat didn't from an animal?

While I agree that PETA can go a little overboard, (honey farms = bee slavery?) you should realize that by BUYING a fur coat, you are giving money to an industry that will use it to pay it's employees to go out and club MORE seals, so they can make MORE fur coats. Fueling a perpetual shit cycle.
