When I feel sad, I don't cry. I haven't really seriously cried in a long time. I wish I could. frown

When I feel sad, I post a lot on SG, but people rarely ever reply to me personally, so it just makes me feel worse.

When I feel sad, sometimes I get in the shower and sit there in the hot water, thinking about things in the safe haven of my bathroom.

When I feel sad, sometimes I play video games and try to lose myself in the lives of the fictional characters I control.

What do you do when you feel sad?

I listen to maudlin music
I eat...a lot
I cry (occasionally--I cry more about things that are happy than I do sad things)
I call people I know will talk about totally unrelated things in order to keep my mind off whatever is upsetting me.
I go walking or driving

I lash out at stupid people on the internet. It calms the soul.

Seriously though, rollerdisco, I think women physically need to cry like once a week or something. shocked

I know! It's not healthy to not cry. Sometimes I really really want to, but the tears just won't come out. Maybe it's yet another medication side effect. whatever

Me too. I think I cry when nice things happen between families or friends. My family is not emotional or very loving so I think when I see that in a movie (or bad sitcom, commercial, etc) it makes me teary. Which I think is sad. Fucked up, even.

When I do actually cry in real life over a sad/ upsetting situation, it tends to hurt-- like physically. It kills my throat. Is that weird?

OH- and when I feel sad, I watch funny movies or listen to really great music or read a book

I actually had a couple years where it was really hard for me to cry. Sometimes I'd get crazy scary muscles locking up symptoms and then I'd finally cry after having to lay down doing nothing at all and having to be alone with my thoughts. Then I'd be able to move again.

I used to go to a pet store and buy crickets and release them by a creek.

Now I usually drive and listen to music and chain smoke and feel sorry for myself.
Or go to sleep.

When I feel sad, I stop reading this damn thread, and find a more uplifting one.
