That is also the third time I've heard about someone ingesting a loved one's ashes. The first was reading Whispered Apologies and the second was the Keith Richards thing.

I don't know why I assume its the father it just seems to be a "very male" way to deal with the loss of someone so close to you. Instead of breaking down crying discussing your feelings you bottle it up and do something anything to help deal with the loss etc.

I assumed father because it reminded me of a scene from Twilight Samurai.

I have a couple of the Post Secret books, and they've taken over a couple of dinner parties. It leads to a weird rollercoaster of emotions.
