The newest actor to portray James Bond, Daniel Craig, stated the character could use some updating and modernizing. He claimed the best way to do this is to give the notorious ladies man some new proclivities. Craig suggested a gay scene might spice things up.
"I mean, look at (British TV series) Doctor Whothat has had gay scenes in it and no one blinks an eye," he added.
Craig also stated he was fine going full-frontal in the newest Bond installment, Casino Royale.
"Why not? I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it,"
Um, ok Was it really your dick, dude? Craig reportedly had a body double for nude scenes.
"I had stunt men all the way. Stunt penises? I've got four or five."
Whats with the stunt penis? Dame Judi Dench claimed you have a gigantic schlong. She caught a glimpse of your junk when she was stalking you outside your trailer.
She revealed: "It's an absolute monster! Maybe I shouldn't have said that. How uncouth of me!"
Bisexual Bond would rock, actually. Competely against the history of the character, but it would make things much more interesting and it'd be great to have a 'hero' of that sort of status portrayed as bisexual.
Also, I want it to happen so I can hear the editors of the Sun, the Star and the Sport all have simultaneous heart attacks.
His point about Doctor Who is a little bit of a misnomer, really. The Doctor himself is never referred to as being bisexual, only Captain Jack. Most people's attitudes are 'As long as its not the title character, who cares?' but in Bond...it's Bond. I honestly don't think people would buy a gay Bond - a man considered the peak of masculinity by most macho macho men? There'd practically be a rebellion. (Note: This is not my personal view, it's just the public reaction )
I think it would be kind of amusing. Although I would demand that I get his women while he meets the boys.
I agree. I've always wanted to write a "tough guy" crime movie in which the lead bad ass is bisexual. Would make for some interesting sub plots. I've never written it because I'm real lazy.
He's a sex fiend. I can see him having sex with anything.
Wasn't there an SNL where James Bond went to the doctor and they found out he had like 27 STDs, including two only found in sharks. Then he had to call up everyone he's ever had sex with to inform them. At the end, he was like
"Hello, Robin? Is Batman there? ... No, stay on the line, this concerns you, too."
I don't know if I'd buy a truly bi-sexual Bond, but it might be cool if he had to seduce a gay villian as part of his mission. This is not completely virgin territory in the Bond series -- in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, Bond donned a kilt and fake accent to impersonate a gay baronet (although his homosexuality was only broadly hinted at in the film.)
Well, seeing as Craig is perhaps THE WORST James Bond ever, and that he failed to understand that Casino Royale is a remake of the first Bond movie ever...I don't really care what he thinks should be done with the 007 franchise. I saw the remake the other night and I was sorely dissapointed with it. He's far too muscle bound to pull off being James Bond, and he just comes off as arrogant rather than witty. Never mind the fact that he wasn't using almost any of the standard bond gear, save the Omega and Aston Martin (halfway through the film...finally.) Wheres the PPK? Where's the lasers? Seriously....

Casino Royale wasn't the first Bond movie, unless I'm missing something. There was a TV special in '54, maybe that's what you're thinking of. If you are, and you were hoping for this to be a faithful remake--that's stupid, as that wasn't particularly good. As far as your complaints about this Bond's lack of refinement--I guess we weren't watching the same movie. In the one I watched he was a developing character, transitioning from rough and unsophisticated to a bit more classy. In the end of the movie he was doing his hunting in a suit and had the classic Bond line. I suspect you'll be more impressed with the next one.
Frankly I think calling this a remake is a bit silly. It wasn't, really--the only other Casino Royale movie was a spoof.
I look at the possibility of a gay or bi Bond as very possible. Though if it happened I would prefer him Bisexual. Double 0's have a short life span, so new Bonds are possible. You dont retire the number because the player leaves the game, can you imagine James Bond 00124. The number and moniker are issued to the next person to be promoted to that spot. The past is erased and you dress into a history premade to bring terror to a villian who has heard the name and number. Well this is how I see it.
To be honest I hope they shed the PG13 rating and go for broke as rated R and make the films better then the eye candy fluff that has pervaded the series since Roger Moore took over for George Lazenby.
