I'm suffering a delema HELP!

I don't know where to start... Well i'm starting with this: I got invited to a bar with a girl i'm into, she wants to meet up midtown NYC... the problem is that I live in the far "dead" part of queens and she lives in the bronx, she wants to meet up around 9 pm we'll hang out untill probably 1-2 am, the only reason why I don't want to go is becuase by train it's a 2 and a half hour trip back home in the middle of the night passing through bad ghetto neighborhoods, and getting back to my neighborhood which is a terrible high crime rate neighborhood. Plus the crime rate goes up since the holidays are coming. I'm pissed off becuase i'm stoping myself from going out on a saturday night with a girl i'm into because I live in a shitty dangerus place and I don't think a night out is worth getting robbed or hurt, and I don't want to deal with that middle of the night dangerus trip... Is there something wrong with that?

I could get shot, I'll probably get mugged, but she's really hot!

It's not only that, its trying to fight with myself not to be a "pussy" and to enjoy myself because i'm young and in college, and trying to deal with getting robbed before. It's not only about the girl, I feel imprisoned just because i'm in a bad bad place

Yeah my grandmother lives about 15 minutes away from her, but heres the catch... My grandmothers neightborhood is probably just as bad as mine or even worst. Besides she wants to take a $40 cab ride back to her place instead of the train, and i'm in a bad spot money wise, can't really share a cab at the current moment

I was in this situation when I was your age, living in NYC.

I remedied it by keeping her out until the sun came up!

btw - I am not a big fan of debt, but this is what credit cards are for!

Did I mention that i'm a college student? Meaning that i'm broke, I have one credit card but it's completely maxed out to the limit... Yeah sucks to be me

She lives the same distance from the city that I do but only in the other direction so if I would to do that I might as well take the trip back home, thanks for the advice though

My grandmother lives 15 minutes away from the girl.... the girl lives 2 and a half hours from NYC

But if you split the taxi, its $20 each and only 40 minutes or so to the Bronx.

Stay out all night! Find an afterhours or a party and drink water!

I totally respect your optimism but I know her.... and myself. Chances are that by 3 am we'll be dead tired almost falling asleep

I was once in this situation with a cute girl that i was flirting with for months and ended up taking the bus home... becuase of all the $$$ logistics issues...

I never had this issue before because I had my own car, now I don't.

Bottom line, it reheheheally sucks not to have your own car anymore.

Word. You're getting the tattoo to meet women, right? Or to look tough? Eliminate the middleman and meet the (real) girl, and be a (real) tough guy by taking by taking the subway home.

If she's willing to travel through the Bronx late at night, you should be willing to travel through Queens. New York has never been safer.

I've dated boys who lived in fucked up neighborhoods, and I never thought less of them because they didn't want to take public transportation late at night--she lives in the Bronx, she'll understand.

Either be honest with her and tell her you're not comfortable, or just go and cross your fingers she'll invite you to stay the night at her place so you won't have to take the train.

Did I miss something?
Just go back to her place, push it in, then fall asleep together and go home the next morning (preferrably after pushing it in a second time once you wake up).

Humm heres the update... Perfect example: Five days after posting this I come back home (by taxi) from a friends house about mile away from my building, I walk into my building and is dead silent, blood literily everywhere in the lobby splattered, two puddles of blood in the 1st floor stair case, the elevator door halfway open and it wasn't working. The only way for me to get home was to walk up 11 flights of stairs, the whole time I had my pocket knife in my hand nevrus preparing for anything. On my way up there was even more blood on the 6th floor... Thank god but I got home safe and sound. Stuff like this happends a few times a year around my way.

For those of you that don't get it, I live in the ghettoo literilly.

This is why i'd rather stay home instead of partying, its a bad imprisoned feeling but I know i'm safe. I'll be like this untill I move into a good neighborhood... That'll take me about 3 years

You would be much more safe and getting laid if you moved. Please do this for me now. I worry about you, and not just because you want to be a writer and can not spell "dilemma".
