I saw that in the theater when it was first released. The satire was lost on my 9-year old mind. It freaked me the fuck out.

Oof. Some of these are obscure for a reason.

I need to see this! My friend highly recommended it to me, but I can't find it on NetFlix.

I will add:

Session 9

scared the hell out of me

Wings of Desire

completly changed my view on what films can do...they remade it into the less-effective and inferior 'City of Angels'

The Legend of 1900

Tim Roth is absolutely wonderful, and his final monologue brings me to tears.

Chariots of Fire

the best sports movie. period. most people know the theme (by Vangelis) but i don't think many people have seen the film.

i came across this movie in a store the other day and had to purchase it after being like 'what the hell is this and why have i never heard of it?' i am thinking i may have never heard of it due to the fact that it's terrible, but i have yet to find out. good to know someone likes it anyway!

also good. Shatner as racist rabble-rouser.
Corman as "message" filmmaker:

The reason Corman never made any other " message " films , was that this is the only one he made that didn't make money . Corman was in the business to make cash , not art biggrin

i wouldn't say it's terrible. a bit dated, perhaps, but if you like Bill Murray at all, and know a little about HST, you'll find much to appreciate. smile

"Combat Shock" certainly isn't obscure in the world of no-budget gore films, but it's worth mentioning.

Jörg Buttgereit's "Nekromantik" is another extreme cinema entry that is probably obscure for a lot of people. The sequel is even better.
