Things seem to be going well for Farrell personally as well; the actor recently announced he and wife Viveca are expecting their second child.

So he DOES do sequels.

Stranger Than Fiction was a good movie....but I agreed with the professor. Krick should have died to complete the story.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Yep. When he didn't die, I was like, "WTF?"

Damn, I'm so used to clicking on spoilers that it didn't even cross my mind that the spoiler tag would actually be used for a spoiler. Duh.

Exactly, it's like ignoring a car alarm due to their high frequency.

I personally do not care about the action of a movie be4 hand. But almost all here seem to acknowledge & be apologetic that for the vast majority whose enjoyment IS effected by knowing a crucial outcome, it is basic decency to avoid revealing that.

It is arrogant to tell others how they must enjoy a movie or be effected by your indiscretion. Which only becomes offensive & outrageous when the fault is compounded by being denied & absurdly defended. Reviewers overwhelmingly do not reveal these major myteries/plot points-this is so basic & self-evident that it is ABC level cultural intelligence & sensitivity.

Agreed. And any reviewer who would reveal those spoilers consistently would be surely fired for those very reasons.

As unamusing as he is to me, I must say, he's earned a bit of respect from me for this.

Elf was fun to watch. But if I wanted a sequel, I could just watch it again drunk. Sequels are so difficult to make properly, unless it's an action movie or a porno. Those just need an ever increasing body count to be worthwhile.

seems a bit empty though, if you're all about quality acting and such you could just take the 28 million once and then spend the rest of your days doing interesting and creative stage work or independent films.

declining 28 million because you only want to do movies that carry the approval of the average nitwit just sounds like trading one empty job for another.

the first thing i thought of was the word integrity.
then realized that it's been a while since i associated that word with an actor/actress.

I'm liking Will Farrell more and more these days. Awesome move on his part, at least he's not all about the money. It really is too bad that they can't get more actors to say no to crap sequels...I don't mind if the sequel has a decent plot...but they hardly ever do frown

I hope he dies soon. I hate every character he has ever played. They are all exactly the same.

Yeah, I know. That Elf and his role as that prison informant in Starsky & Hutch are practically the same thing.

It's the fact that they all are RETARDED. The only difference I see is the costumes.

Yo! Ferrell!! We dont want you to be no Hanks or Carrey!!! We want to see you humiliate yourself!! To dance naked when everyone else is in clothes!! Why do you think Strnger Than Fiction tanked??? Cause we don't care about "serious actor will." We want to see your baloon knot, not your acting chops!!!!

Yeah, but remeber that it's not like Will Farrell was standing in line at a soup kitchen when they offered him the 30 mil.

Yeah, I know. I was just expressing my desire to sell out.

Did you correct the spelling of his name and then intentionally misspell it? confused
