Well, I must admit I was nervous at first. Oh, didn't I tell you? It's my first time.
I'm making bread. I will post the link where I found the recipe at the bottom.
My big ole bread ball is baking as we speak. When it's done, I will of course post a pic.
Here are a couple "in progress" shots though.
Just a little ole dough ball
So, it may not LOOK bigger, but trust me, it's bigger. I let 'er sit for about an hour.
O.k., I wasn't gonna peek, but I had to. Lookin' good! I am hopeful!
So, if you want this recipe, go check out The Amateur Gourmet
His website is all around fantastic and he puts the whole recipe and directions for making this bread.
Sweet! I just made MY first loaf of bread last night too, and it turned out really well. I'm was so proud of myself that I called my Mum up and told her She said "See, you are a good baker, and you know where to got that from, right!?" My Mother's a great baker and so was her Father, so its nice to know I got some good qualities from that branch of the family (besides my love of talking and good beer, of course!)
See, here is my secret. I know HOW to bake, and I'm very good at it, I just don't let it on otherwise my hubby might start expecting bread and pies and whatnot.

I figure that women appreciate a guy who can cook; so I plan on showing my skils off, once I get back state side in May

I am baking a lot trying to get used to using a gas oven. I made croissants the other day... NOT WORTH THE EFFORT! It takes like 2 days!
I must admit, croissants are a pain in the ass. I would much rather go to the store to pick up some that someone else made. Bread however, is incredble fresh out of the oven, covered in butter. Well worth the effort involved.
