Ashlee Simpson bragged that The Cure frontman Robert Smith turned up to see her perform as Roxie Hart in the London theatrical version of Chicago. Simpson, who is so fucking goth it hurts, said she could hardly contain herself when she was told Smith was in the audience

Simpson said she would just love if the two could get together to work on a project.

I would give anything to see Ash and Robert team up for a re-make of her deeply-felt single, “La-La.” Just imagine…

I know Robert Smith actually and I would be very surprised indeed if he did anything with this one hit wonder!

As if she can 'work'. How Robert Smith managed to not avoid being there is another matter...if he was there atall....

If it did happen, I would burn our entire Cure collection.

Let me restate this. If he did anything musically with her, I'd burn it. If her working with him meant him sending her off to fetch him a spot of tea, then I would still love him.

Every culture has it's icons. one of ours is Robert Smith. While Ashlee might be a 'pop icon' and completely devoid of any real talent, keep that in mind when you compare the two.
