It is impossible to not remember them. The key is to get drunk when you do.

When I was a little kid, I was really afraid of the dark, and my brothers and sisters made me watch horror movies all the time. So I'd picture the horrifying things I saw in the movies when I tried to sleep (thus horrifying me and making it impossible to sleep). But then, I'd picture Optimus Prime from Transformers. If I concentrated hard, that was the only thing I could visualize. And I'd hold onto that picture in my head and not let go til I fell asleep. It worked pretty well for me then. And actually, pretty recently, I used the same tactic with thinking of my ex. Optimus Prime and all. It actually worked better than expected, but not really for long. You could try that. Just visualize a strong image to block out the one you're trying to forget. (Optimus Prime is mine, though. Find your own.)

This may not be the most healthy way of living, but sometimes it's the only way.
