Is Cali-Mex kinda like Tex-Mex?

Uh, what's "Tex-Mex?" biggrin

Probably. I haven't hung out in TX too much. But in CA, there are these Cali-Mex places like Baja Fresh and the like.

No burrito in the history of the world compares to the Mission Burrito. It's science. And law.

Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on that, and mind you, I don't take the act of calling bullshit on anything burrito-related lightly.

You may call whatever you'd like, but you'd be wrong.

Haha, something like that happened in my hometown but the restaurant got around it by only serving hot dogs.

But a hot dog is obviously in the sandwich family. Its meat on a roll. How is that not a sandwich?

Now that I think about it, the place in question was going against a non-compete clause that was specific to hamburgers and not sandwiches in general.

Chipotle fucking rocks. Better than any mex I ever had in SoCal.

You obviously never made your way to an Alberto's. If you're ever back, give 'em a try.

They aren't Cali-Mex food....they don't put lettuce in their tacos. Just soft corn tortillas, meat, onions, cillantro, and seasoning.

Their carne asada burritos are a Godsend after a night of drinking. And many of them are open 24 hours.

We had a place like that in San Luis called Tio Alberto's. We called it TA's for short. tongue

I don't think Chipotle puts lettuce in either. Actually, I have no idea because I haven't had a taco from there.

In other news, I live a few houses up from an amazing mex place called Polly's and it was so nice last night to send the kiddo down for hot tortilla chips (corn and white flour mixed) and fresh salsa. love

the mission has great burritos (cancun rocks it), but ive had better. colimas in oceanside throws down a mean mofo. seriously, it could take the alamo solo.
