I've noticed that every person whom seems to look Goth whom I pass does this exact same thing.

I'm not Goth, nor do I try to identify with the Goth culture. But I will be honest, I do look kind of Goth; I dress in black, I wear black trench coats and I have long hair.

Every time I pass somebody who obviously identifies with "hardcore" Goth they always seem to look at me with a sense of irritability. Like they're saying "Oh God, somebody who is dressed just like me!" I mean they actually roll their eyes and try so, so hard to not look at me, either that or just simply try to stare me down.

So what is the deal with this 'uncomfortable with other Goths' thing?

Yeah, I think that's just being human. Try being female, we do it to eachother all the damn time.

"OMG, look at her ass... if your ass was that big would you be wearing pants that say 'juicy' on the back?"

"No way, they totally look better on you..."

You can't really call yourself "goth" unless you tweeze your pubes.

True story.

Christ, it's called being 'pretentious,' which you obviously wouldn't know about, not being a real goth.

Whatever.

I always thought that was more of an emo thing...
"My relationship with my dad was way worse than yours dude" or
"My fringe is longer than yours""

or you get the certain amount of emos who own a nightmare before christmas bag, wallet, teeshirt and have no idea that it was originally a film. Those types really tweek my melon.

A) because you merely thought the word 'hardcore'.
B) because you are a douche embarassingly to the genre and even to those simply accustomed to being associated with the drama. I meant genre. 'drama' was an honest Freudian slip I let be.

Actually the soul doesn't exist, I cry blood and bleed black nailpolish.I breathe clove smoke and we drink octopus ink.

And actually now that you mention it... I'm not sure if anyone is more Goth than me.

Just FYI. don't stop making fun of them, God knows I never will.

I believe that it is simple: A Goth establishes themselves and wins immortality by the glory of their deeds. These Goths who you pass are apparently attempting to challange your image; they seek to goad you into a battle so that when the time comes to enter the vaulted halls of Valhalla they shall be given a position of honor in the hall of Great Wottan!

...

I've confused my Goths again, haven't I?

I've always enjoyed the image of Rome falling to an army of black-clad, spiky-haired clove-smokers whose battle tactics resembled sloths falling from trees (set to a sound track by Fields of the Nephilim). biggrin
