"What came first: the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos -- that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. But no one worries about kids listening to thousands -- literally THOUSANDS -- of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable? Or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

...You don't have to leave right this second. You can stay till whenever...."

"No. No... we've done the hardest part, so I should just..."

"Just stay for tonight then...?

Laura...?

(She leaves.)

"My all-time top-five desert island break ups, in chronological order, are as follows: Allison Ashmore, Penny Hardwick, Charlie Nichols, Sarah Kendrew and Jackie Allen. Those were the ones that really hurt.

CAN YOU SEE YOUR NAME ANYWHERE IN THAT LIST, LAURA?! MAYBE YOU COULD SNEAK INTO THE TOP TEN, BUT THERE'S JUST NO ROOM FOR YOU IN THE TOP FIVE. THOSE PLACES ARE RESERVED FOR THE KIND OF HUMILIATION AND HEARTBREAK YOU'RE JUST NOT CAPABLE OF DELIVERING. IF YOU REAAALLY WANTED TO MESS ME UP, YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN TO ME EARLIER!!!!"

Growing up, I must admit to 101 Dalmatians, and The Lion King.

I used to be pretty good with Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and had a few sketches from the show down pat as well...

These days, I imagine I could come fairly close with Serenity (mmm... Nathan Fillion...) and probably VERY close with The Boondock Saints.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai and Big Trouble in Little China were the two big ones during my teenage years. Even this many years later, I could probably still recite them line for line from memory.
