Saw GnR at the Warfield a month ago. Axl got his voice back. It was a goooood show. Not really THE GnR but a good show.

Hope the they will still be able to make it to Europe at some point kiss

This is a great opportunity, that said I saw "Axel and friends" at Roskilde last summer...and it was lame. But that%u2019s just my two cents.

My only beef with the whole Axel Rose thing is that his voice insites a negative physical reaction for me.

I get nausious. I'm not joking either.

When I was a kid, my mother would blast GnR while speeding around Palmdale, CA, smoking menthols, with my sister and I in the back seat. Plus, her meth dealer's son, who regularly molested me between the ages of 5 and 7 would listen to it constanly.

It's sorta like A Clockwork Orange, I start to get violently ill whenever I hear Axel Rose even speak.

Not his fault or anything, I just got some fucked up conditioning.

rearranged their lives....?

i'm sorry

rearranged their lives...?

i can't get round how buying a ticket for an event way in advance of the event and planning to go to it involves rearranging your life, if you have somthing already on, you don't get a ticket, if you have nothing planned for that night you get a ticket,

i'd hardly call it rearranging your life. more. planning your diary

Not everyone has an easy time getting a night off work and finding a babysitter.

I really don't know why I'm still posting here. It seems that both sides are trying equally hard to avoid seeing the others' point. Oh well, that's just internet arguments for you.

Indeed, if you had to rearrange your life for this, you went a bit too far.

I made a phone call every day for a week and a half trying to find out if I'd even be able to get into the venue and made sure to call a taxi company a couple of days before to make sure they could accomodate me. I'd have been pretty pissed if it had been canceled on me, and I'm not even one of those many people who had to take off work or arrange a babysitter to go. I have friends for whom going to see a movie is a major endeavour and a 5 hour show is a bit more intrusive than that.

Again, arranging a cab, arranging a babysitter, and getting the night of work isn't exactly "rearranging your life". Or at least that is WAY too melodramatic a phrase for it!

Oh noes! You had to cancel that cab and babysitter and go to work!

I pretty much agree with everyone like you who is saying that people are overreacting about this, but I think Apes was pointing out that for people in wheelchairs, a lot of work is involved in planning these things, and that shouldn't be laughed off.

That is true. In that case, it sucks that the show was cancelled.

I'm really just glad we're on the next page and the Page of Overreactions is behind us.

Basically. I'm just saying that for different people with different lives and lifestyles making plans to do something like this isn't just a whim and might involve a singnificant time investment and in the case of people asking off work might involve calling in favors or making commitments to cover for someone else in return. There's more involved for some people than the simple decision to go to the show and a couple of bucks.

Several people commented on the first couple of pages that they came into this thread expecting to see that one of the performers had been injured. I did the same. Now, I don't think that we're particularly morbid people or anything, just that there's an assumption that if plans get canceled on you like this there'd better be a pretty good reason. And really, I can't think of too many good reasons (other than health and family related) to inconvenience people.

Now, I've said my piece. I got to see the show I went to, so I'm not really emotionally invested in people who got screwed, but I'm not so blind as to think that it isn't a real hastle for some people. But really, the inconvenience for people who got canceled on is the least of the problems I have with this decision.
