Guitar Hero 2 is out soon, if you like Guitar Heroing.

Final Fantasy 12 is out now, if you like RPGing.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is out now, if you like superheroes fighting in a Gauntlet Legends type scenario.

There's also Bully, which is kind of like Grand Theft Auto with pre-adolescents fucking with each other.

Personally, my favorite game is Viewtiful Joe. It's a side-scroller that has you beating up robots throughout movie land as you utilize powers that allow you to speed up and slow down time.

Thanks, despite all the hype, Bully looks like a yawn factory, from what I've seen.

+1 i can't put it down.

you might want to also check out shadow of the colossus, ico, any of the metal gear solids, silent hill 2, and guitar hero. i know those are older games, but if you haven't tried them you should.

In addition to the above recommendations (particularly Ico, and Shadow of the Colossus), consider Okami, or Psychonauts.

Okami - a Legend of Zeldaesque adventure game steeped in Japanese mythology, and featuring an absolutely beautiful watercolor and traditional Japapanese art graphics pallette. It's simply astounding to look at, and a whole heap of fun, to boot.

Psychonauts - A Mario Brothers style platforming game about a young boy at psychic summer camp. Innovative gameplay and a sparkling, actually funny script make it one of the best games of the past few years. "Get a move on, private! My bowels move more often than you do!"

I like the Disgaea games . If you get easily addicted to leveling up characters , then these may be the games for you .

I got stuck and haven't picked it up in months. It was cool until then, though.

YESSS. I have this for my Gamecube. It's like Contra with cute yellow guys. AND it's cheap most places. I picked it up at Toys R Us for fifteen bucks.

If you're into survival horror, the Fatal Frame series is one of my favorites. Personally I enjoyed 2 the most. By "enjoyed" I mean "was traumatized by". It is to be played in the dark with the surround sound turned up. Scary.

I just keep getting caught up in how many of these are best on Xbox.

Sorry. Um... Cold Winter's a pretty decent if not exceptionally original shooter. Why do I recommend it? Script by Warren Ellis. Yes, that Warren Ellis. The man-god.

I second the recommendation of Okami.

Disaster Report is kind of like survival horror without the horror. You're trying to survive a cataclysmic earthquake on a man-made island, and the attendant secondary disasters and aftershocks and such. It's not the greatest game ever made, but it's consistently original and tense, and the feeling of being in the middle of a (massively over the top) disaster is excellent. And you should be able to pick it up for under ten bucks.

If you like RPGs and haven't picked up the Shin Megami Tensei games or the Shadow Hearts series, you want to. Well...SMT might be hard to find and expensive, so even though I love the heck out of them, they're not as crucial. But the Shadow Hearts games...so good.

Saint's Row is also an Xbox 360 exclusive, not PS2.

Yep. To absolutely no attention. I didn't read about it until much later, when Gamecritics included it in an installment of their "Bargain Basement" column. Supposedly there is/was a sequel in the works, involving a flood scenario, but I have no idea if that panned out.
