2 was awful...

i'll probably end up seeing it anyway, since my boy seems to like it.

i hated the first one, was bored by the second, and, obnoxious editing aside, actually enjoyed the third one. i kept coming back just for the violence, and it paid off.

Wait, what exactly has been causing people to faint? Like, what scenes exactly?

If you reply, remember to post it behind a spoiler for those who haven't seen the movie.

Oh, and by the way, the second one was so, so terrible.

The piercing 20 minutes in made me faint. The one where the guy had to rip the steel ring out of his jaw to avoid getting exploded by the bomb

you right... Final Fantasy has evolved as a beautiful Story-telling event of a game, while Saw is simply an excuse to gore up the screen over and over again, however fun and gruesome those scenes may be tongue

Boy, I must be totally desensitized. It had no effect on me whatsoever.

It made me smile. And laugh a little. God, I'm a horrible person.

As a side note I had three black girls sit next to me and when they showed the black guy getting possibly the worst torture of them all one said "Aw hells naw!" I repressed a laugh at that one. She had a point though. If a black guy doesn't die first, he dies worst.

I have heard that they removed the subliminal flashing scenes with the picture of Captain Howdy snarling from the theatrical release of The Exorcist because of people in test audiences fainting.

The funny thing about it, I'm usually completely desensitized to this crap. My parents are in the horror movie biz afterall, but holy crap, I actually did feel sick watching this (and not just during the piggy seen).

I have watched some of the most horrifying things man has thought to put on film, including 'guinea Pig" and "faces of Death" but this got to me somehow. I think because I have this things about bones breaking, and most of the crap in here involved bones and severe mangling instead of the usual slash shit.

So, I give the fine makers of Saw major kudos for pushing the envelope one step further. Even if the story is stupid, especially with the classic "saw epiphony" scene, where you basicly find out Jigsaaw is fairly omnipresent for a dude with braincancer.

I almost never want to see this film again for fear of nausia, but maybe it was just my stressed out mood that evening that did it to me. Either way, I am excited for Hostel 2 to come out, because it will surely top this one for gore.

I wonder how the phenomena compares to people fainting during Chuck P.'s readings of "Guts" from his novel Haunted

I'd have wondered if the whole thing might be a publicity thing, but you're a real live person so I guess not.

and chuck p gets to that story early in the book too...it really set the tone...hands down one of the most disgustingly descriptive books i have ever read

When I saw "The Blair Witch Project" in the theater, I got so wound up and stressed waiting for something to jump out, by the end my stomach was in total knots. When nothing ever happened, I felt cheated, all the build up with no release. As soon as I drove home from the theater, I couldn't help puking. Just the anxiety of it over-rode my body.

I can see cringing with anticipation so badly in some scenes in these movies affecting you physically... puke

you should have just treated it like a date that did not work out quite the way you had hoped, gone straight home, and given yourself a good scare.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh god. I am love with the saw movies. 1 was a welcome treat from the normal horror films. 2 wasn't as great, but still a lovely ultimate trap (think jigsaw saying "your son is in a safe place" and he was in the safe 2 feet away.) 3 was insane. I think it was a lovely way to end the trilogy. Everyone dies.

I hear talk of a 4th but I think its just nerds getting their hopes up.

The bone scene really got to me too. The pigs weren't so awful to watch, it was just that I KNEW that they had to be the most rotting disgusting maggot filled pigs he cold get his hands on. The bone scene took me back to breaking my own bones and how a small crack hurts... the pain that kid went through would be incredibly intense. I would think that if that had happened in real life he would have passed out before the final turn, similar to people in HDQ situations.

Hostel 2 is going to be fucked up. I remember the achilles heel scene, and how I just FELT it from Hostel 1. From the preview, I think it takes place in Germany.

Saw and its sequels are just bore fests. Something plausible is always gonna affect people more then things that won't ever happen. Saw will never be real life. But if your talking about a torture flick, something based on the war on terror and the breakdown of our civil liberties would be scary as shit cause its going down as we speak. It just might happen to be us one of these days.

Oh yeah, I sure as hell felt that achilles heel thing too. After that I think my jaw stayed wide open for the rest of the movie.

Hardly, I watch this stuff while munching a snack and grinning the whole way through. It's a movie, no someone I know in the next room.
