But they are called "ghouls" in the White Wolf universe. Neener!
Oh, okay... sorry, I can't get THAT dorky about vampires.
Believe it or not, I'm actually not that big on vampires. I just dig the hell out of Hamilton's books, and I happen to remember the ghoul thing from when I played Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
Anita is all kinds of sex and fun.
I believe vampires existed at one point but the truth about them has been distorted and embellished until it bears very little semblance to what a vampire would actually be. I think the core of the myth is still there but the rest is up for debate. By the core of the myth I mean drinking blood and that's it.
Countess Bathory was alive sometime ago.....it was said that she would kill her servants and bathe in their blood to attain a transluency to her skin after a few years it was said that she began to drink the blood but no one was certain, one of her relatives is still alive and he recently publised a book about her......

The trouble with the study is that it only addresses on particular and specfic vampire myth. Many cultures have vampire mythology that doesn't entail such a rabid spread of infection.
I don't believe in vampires, but you know, be accurate with your debunking.
Seriously!
I'm always amazed at how exceedingly stupid people who are supposed to be paid for being clever can be.
