Yeah, Chris Rock's mom is after the dough...she's broke.

What part of "Cracker Barrell has been under federal investigation for several incidents of discrimination" are people not getting?

Finally...I had no idea Cracker Barrell was a restaurant. Up here in the Northeast...Cracker Barrell only appears as a kiosk in shopping malls during Christmas time to sell you over-salted sausage & bland cheese.

They must just not be in your area. (wherever "I'm Lost" is. wink ) There's several of them here in MA. I've never been to one.

Though once I was w/a group of friends in Hampton Beach and went to a sit-down restaurant for dinner. It took 15 minutes and flagging down 2 waitresses (one of whom was a snotty bitch) for a refill on my soda. And there were several tables empty, so "being swamped" was nonexistent.

I can understand working for a waitstaff's wages, but two things should be remembered:

1. Know how to do your job.

2. No matter your mood, you should be as quick as possible w/your tables, and be treating them w/respect. They're the ones giving you your tips.

The bill came to $69.99, and we left a penny tip. They were lucky to get that.

In 1991, Cracker Barrel instituted a policy requiring employees to display "normal heterosexual values which have been the foundation of families in our society."
The company refused to change their policy in the face of protest demonstrations by gay rights groups, but in 2002, the company's stockholders voted to rescind the practice after ten years of efforts by the New York City Employees Retirement System, a major shareholder.

Cracker Barrel is one of eight companies indicted and accused of making alleged illegal corporate campaign contributions to the Texans for a Republican Majority political action committee (TRMPAC), started by Rep. Tom DeLay

Yeah, Chris Rock's mom is the villain here. No way a company like that could be involved in any sort of shady practices!

Wow, you didn't get a "Free Refill" right away, so you stiffed someone?
You're a Hell of a guy.

Well, it wasn't just that, the service all-around could've been a lot better. That's just what stuck out. But if I ask for something rather politely, I shouldn't get a bad attitude in return.

I worked @a chain pizza shop (Papa Gino's, for those of you in New England) for about 3 years, so I know what it's like to get bad customers who don't like the service. But if you act negatively towards them, that impacts your co-workers, as well as the customer's chances of coming back.

Also, on the other side of the argument, a few weeks ago the lady and I went to Pizza Hut for dinner. The place was packed, and there was ONE guy waiting like 90% of the tables, while one girl would maybe clean a table or two, then just sit there. We waited a little over an hour for our meal, and we just packed up our food and left. Our waiter apologized profusely, and we left him a sizeable tip, since it wasn't his fault. But we went straight to the manager and told him that our waiter was great, but the rest of the service sucked ass.

i'm still confused over why anyone would sue over poor service. i'm sorry, but i don't think there's enough evidence provided in this case to be okay with calling this racial discrimination. of course, nobody's calling chris rock's mother a villian, i'm just saying the lawsuit seems awfully frivolous.

I hate how people use their race as an excuse. So, they got shitty service at a restaurant and they were the only black people. Its merely a fucking coincidence. Blaming a race for shitty service doesn't constitute suing.

I can understand waiting for prolonged periods if a place is busy, but I feel I should at least get acknowledgement that I'm there. Maybe their server made an oversight or whatever, but if I was a waiter for the next section over and noticed someone being overlooked I'd at least ask if their waiter/waitress had come over and at least seen them.

I don't know what this particular situation was, but if I notice people who have come in AFTER me getting full service before I'm even greeted I definitely would have to say something was up.

I have been in a Denny's before where my dad noticed that our family and all of the other people of color had "coincidentally" all been seated in the same partitioned off corner of the restaurant. We didn't make a big deal out of it, but after more people started coming in it was a pretty noticeable distinction.
