An unlikely savior came from the heavens singing the praises of Britney Spears. Jesse Hughes, lead singer for the Eagles of Death Metal, admitted he’s a huge Spears fan and would love to collaborate with the pop star. He’s particularly fond of Spears’ song “Toxic.”

"Isn't it one of the greatest songs you've ever heard?"

Hughes said he wants to help Spears get back to her former superstar glory.

Speaking to MTV news, Hughes says, "Britney, please let me help you, girl. I will do whatever you need to help you make that comeback. Britney Spears' videos rock, and I don't care how much she's singing, writing or not writing - I just want to see that girl make a comeback and make more videos."

Hey Jesse, “Toxic” really isn’t one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard.

Dear Jessie Hughes,
Keep it to yourself dude.

This guy is pretty much pure evil. On par with Doctor Evil and Osama Bin Laden. Bush should really reasess the whole Iraq thing and focus some attention on this guy before he acts on his sick fantasies of unleashing more Brittney on the world.

I'm pretty sure an EoDM collabo with Britney would rock so many parties.

Then again, I can see Jesse just saying that for attention.

+1 on the attention thing.

But if he is serious, that's nice too. Perhaps if the Britster had some lessons in cool she wouldn't be so..so...yeah.

I'm imagining a collaboration on par with Cry Baby. That could be fun...ny.

oh, please no. hasn't the world had enuf of her? i was so happy when she was sidelined by pregnancy. besides, the whole marginally talented but hot pop singer category is reaching critical mass.

Toxic is one of the best pop songs in recent memory. I usually wouldn't give Spears' material a chance, but that song snuck up on me and I really like it.

If Debbie Gibson can do it with the Circle jerks, so can Britney and EODM.

"Toxic" is the only music video I have saved on my computer. It's not one of my favorite songs, but if I were out somewhere and it got played, I would be very happy. It's excellent for what it is.

Jesse Hughes knows what's up. I don't share his opinion, but I respect it. If Britney Spears sang on some Eagles of Death Metal, I'd scoop it up.

toxic is an amazing song.

in reality though, it's not like britney had anything to do with it.
her voice was so digitized it could have been sung by anyone.
