During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Sienna Miller bemoaned the pitiful state of her life. The actress temporarily relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while filming a new movie, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. Apparently unhappy with her surroundings, Miller bitterly referred to the city as Shitsburgh.
"Can you believe this is my life?" complained to Rolling Stones Jenny Eliscu, over a plate of garlic-parmesan Buffalo wings at a Pittsburgh hotel bar. "Will you pity me when you're back in your funky New York apartment and I'm still in Pittsburgh? I need to get more glamorous films."
Apparently people of Shitsburgh dont care for Miller, either. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported citizens of the city are planning to boycott the film.
In retaliation, the paper calls the 24-year-old fashionista a semi-famous actress and quoted Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl as saying, "I think obviously we have a great town, and I disagree with her comments. She was probably in the more elite facilities in and around the city. I think if she would have interacted with regular Pittsburghers, she would have found differently. She needs to get out with us regular folks."
Miller later issued an apology for her uncouth statements regarding the great city of Pittsburgh.
"I want to apologize for my comments which seem to have been misconstrued and taken out of context. I was referring to the fact that we are shooting almost all night shoots on this film and none of us have had an opportunity to fully explore the city. What I have seen of it is beautiful. I came once before to visit the Andy Warhol museum whilst researching a film and found both the city and it's inhabitants warm and gracious. My father is from Meadville and is in town to show me round this weekend. I sincerely apologize and hope people realize that conversations can be easily manipulated in print."
Because the term "Shitsburgh" can be easily misinterpreted? Photo Location
how rude. Its Pissburgh, not Shitsburgh. And yes, I live here and yes, it pretty much sucks compared to other similar sized cities. Not only does the single scene stink, its hard to buy booze, lots of old people but at least the weather sucks.

She's an actress? Maybe she should try an x rated movie. That way, her mouth would be full of something and she couldn't say any stupid remarks
Hey, only we can call our city Shitsburgh! It does blow there, but it is my home.
Thank goodness though that she didn't insult the Steelers! They'd have run her out of town. And no, I'm not joking. You don't fuck around with the Black and Gold.

Look, I love my city, but interacting with the Joe Schmoe's and "Yinzers" of the 'Burgh would give her an even worse opinion of the city. If i had a nickle for every time i've heard the lines, "There's a difference between an *N-bomb* and a black person," or, "I'm not racist or anything, but a black person can never lead an NFL team to a Superbowl," well....I'd have a shit load of nickles. From Democrats no less!
Having said that, in all fairness, the younger generation are much better.

Tell me about it. My (Pittsburg-born) g/f had tickets to the regular season Colts vs. Steelers game here in Indy last year, and nearly ended up in a brawl when some guys in a car heckled her for being decked out in Steelers stuff while walking to the RCA Dome-- Steelers fans swarmed out of nowhere and tried to pull the guys out of the car for a beating. "Terrible towels" indeed. (The only thing she gets more passionate about: the Penguins. I'm probably on her "passion" list somewhere below the football teams of Penn State and Purdue.)
Anyway-- the Sienna "controversy" has me wondering: why can't she state her dislike for Pittsburg? Why must an actor pretend to enjoy every place in which they shoot?

The reports have said that she shoots the film at night, and is holed up in her hotel room all day. She leaves her room only to go to the hotel bar to have a drink and a smoke.
If that's all you've done in the town, then it's hardly a fair assessment and it's your own fault for not finding something to do.
I find it difficult to go to any city in the world and not be able to find something fun to do.
Sounds like a case of an upper-class snobby actress not wanting to have anything to do with the 'common people' of a former blue-collar town.
