It varies a lot, depending on how often they're played,and for how long. If it's a series of commercials, you can make a LOT of money (the "Can you hear me now?" guy is banking).

lets say ten commercials played pretty much constantly over the course of a year
Oh, I missed the word "series". Yeah, if the actor becomes a commodity like Jared or that talking gecko (how do they get him to do that?!) I'll bet that "Where's the Beef?" woman was set for life.

Considering that she died less than a year after her first commercial, I'd be hard pressed to argue that point...

Very rough but informed guess is in the neighborhood of $200K depending on the compensation you negotiate, your experience as on camera talent, and union status.
Oh also, a lot of times the media plan doesn't end up running as intended, pre production of the spots. So what you earn will depend greatly on how many times the spots actually do run.
