Back in the day, nobody rocked a lifeguard buoy and chest hair like The Hoff. How hot was he? Even Princess Diana had a thing for him.

In his new autobiography, David Hasselhoff claims Diana wanted to mount him like one of Charles' polo ponies. But it was The Hoff who turned her down, out of respect for his marriage.

Hasselhoff... said Diana was impressed by his muscular 6ft 4in body.

"She was smitten with me since I am so tall. I was smitten with her since she was so tall," he said.

The troubled actor, who has battled alcoholism and is recently divorced from his wife Pamela, insisted there was a sexual attraction and the pair would have slept together "if circumstances had been different."

He added the princess joked: "You look much better with your clothes on," and he replied: "Well Ma,am, so do you." This cheeky remark made Diana apparently burst into a fit of giggles and blush, he said.

Apparently the Hasselhoff effect wasn't limited to the ladies. Hoff also claims that Elton John wanted some sack-time with him when both were performing in Germany.
