SG is a source of wonderfully biased news, which is great. If you want somebody pretending to be objective, read the real news. I for one love all the commentary that people stick in their news postings. You don't have to agree with everything posted on here, and it's fine to voice your disagreement, but excessive bitching and moaning over the subjective nature of somebody's writing is a little annoying to me.

Anyway, I think the whole institution of marriage in the legal sense needs a complete overhaul. As it is now, it seems to me to be another example of christianity butting into government affairs. Personally, I'd see that as enough grounds to boycott it right off the bat. If the state could sponsor it in a way that wasn't so religiously slanted, then we'd have avoided this whole gay marriage debate even being an issue.

Have you been desperately searching for an excuse not to marry your baby momma? Well, Brad Pitt came up with the perfect excuse.

This sounds like a lowest-common-denominator, heterocentric, middle-class response dismissing Pitt's statement as some kind of excuse to get out of his "duty" to marry his girlfriend. But what's with the cynicism here? This is a site that at least at one point was supposed to represent society's underappreciated and underrepresented people and viewpoints. I think this statement of his is laudable, and I'm gaining a new respect for Pitt on a daily basis for using his mega-celebrity status to make very public statements just like this latest one. Angelina is obviously rubbing off on him (yes, yes). Good for him.

Oh and if the statement quoted above was meant to be "ironic" or "funny," then try again. How about try some real commentary instead of being snide for the sake of gaining some coolness points?

And yeah, don't bother telling me to leave the site if I don't like it, because I will be anyway.

Did I miss the Stick-up-the-Ass booth on the way in here? What's with the lack of sense-o-humor on this site lately? Sheesh.

Oh, and... what tomahto said. I think it's awesome if it's heart felt.

Babydoll, I already have all the cool points I'll need for the rest of my life. Ask around.

As for the rest of this bullshit, please start a thread about it in the news group, and we'll discuss it there.

Maybe he's making this statement because he is rich & famous . Because he knows that due to that , his opinion will get in print , where if you or I had the same opinion , it wouldn't get anywhere except maybe the internet . Being rich & famous in & of itself doesn't make him right or wrong .

Maybe they just make the same number and kind of political statements that we do, they just have newspapers and magazines listening all the time.
