Tony Jaa’s first major film, Ong-Bak, took America completely by surprise last year. Now Jaa is back in The Protector, in which he takes his signature martial art--Muay Thai--to a whole new level. Jaa achieves seemingly impossible stunts like flipping off of the foreheads of elephants and kicking the crap out of dozens of people using vicious elbow and knee hits. He also inspires great emotion for the elephants that his character is trying to rescue. With the help of a translator, Jaa and I were able...

Yes! I love this guy!! He is sooo good and I cannot wait for that movie to be out. That being said, he also has some EXCELLENT ukes, which is probably the reason why he only tore a muscle making the movie. Oh and I loved the fact that he says he would run if you attacked him, that's what most sensible martial artists would do before resorting to violence.

Knee to the face? That's how hard Ong-Bak hit me the first time I saw it. And every other time, to be honest. I watched on DVD yesterday for like the 50th time. And caught the end of it tonight on tv, then ran into this interview on here. How freaky is that?

Fucking awesome. Can't wait for this movie to come out.

Long live Tony "Elbows of Death" Jaa!

As a Muay Thai practitioner myself I very humbly respect Tony Jaa. Ong Bak is an awesome movie, just a taste of what Muay Thai and Tony have to offer. He is amazing and his representation of ancient Thai martial arts only fuels my passion for it. I can't wait to go see The Protector and any future projects he is involved with.

Chok-Dee!!

It's nice to see something different in martial arts movies. It used to be for a while that so many of the moves in movies were so incredibly fake that it really insulted your intellegence (a lot of Jet Li movies for example).

Tony Jaa is a delightful breath of fresh air!

I just finished his recent movie, The Protector. I enjoyed the movie and like how it flowed better then Ong Bak. It'd be great if he made a movie here in the United States, but knowing how horrible Jet Li movies that were produced here were, Ja's movies would probably be the same, a filthy rotting piece of shit.

I watched Ong Bak in Chiang Mai in north Thailand, with a bunch of muay thai boxers from the local gym. That was some fucking evening biggrin
Everyone was screaming at the screen, and the english subtitles were all "fuck fucking fuck fuckety fuck!!! Bitch fuck bastard fuck fuck!"

Tony Jaa lead a new breed of fighers. He's so humble and so strong at the same time. The original name of the movie in Thai is Tom Yum Goong, which is the name of the restaurant in the movie. But I bet the English subtitles won't do the movie justice like Ong Bak. If you get a chance watch the original on DVD. It's out there.
