I guess it started two or three years ago. One day, I decided it sucked getting the urge to play games I sold or traded-in, especially if those games were rare, and selling for a lot on ebay. (I think it's around this time I found my old SNES in my closet. I'm sure that was an influencing factor as well)
I vowed to never trade in a game again. (I broke this, but it was on games I ended up not liking.) I started buying some systems I used to have, replacement controllers for old systems I did own, and games I wanted to play again. I also bought some games that were cheap, that I thought might go for a lot on ebay in the future, so I didn't have to track them down or pay a lot later on.
I have over a hundred games across almost a dozen systems. I may have to sit down one day, and pick some games to sell. I ended up with a few games I didn't like, a few that weren't as good as I remember, and a few that are too similar to other games I own.
I have a small amount of toys, that I mostly use as deoration in my game room. I kind of collect books. And I have a booze collection. I consider the booze a collection, since there is more alcohol than I can drink by myself in a reasonable period of time.

Oh, and I also collect old photographs from other people. I have a terrible habit of breaking into abandoned buildings and finding the most wonderful things.
I do the old pic thing as well. I usually get them from the garbage after an estate sale. They often throw them out after a sale if no one buys them and it makes me sad.
I will buy them if the people look cool (I found a bunch from a ladies Halloween party from 1907) Or if it is a gentleman with crazy facial hair (pre-1940's)
