British tabloids and paparazzi take great pleasure pointing out what we already know: Nicole Richie is too fucking skinny. As if she couldnt tell by the muscles and tendons flapping in the wind, photographers shouted to Richie, informing her she needs to gain some weight. This showdown occurred a few hours after a creepy-looking Richie enjoyed a frightening jog on the beach.
With her ribcage protruding through her skin, the socialite and TV star had to hold up her American size 0 bikini which bagged around her wisp thin frame as she sunbathed on a beach in Malibu.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that a photographer called out telling her to "gain some weight." The ultra-skinny star replied: "I have a disease" before bursting into floods of tears...
Did the British tabs ever stop to consider that Americans might find a bulging sternum aesthetically pleasing? Is it possible we find a saggy bikini bottom uncontrollable arousing?

I bet you take delight in making fun of autistic kids too ?
Gee it's so histerical when they cry.
What a hoot.
yeah, this is totally comparable to that. i bet she's crying right now about this on the gigantic pile of money she gets for doing absolutely nothing.
Um so , yeah it's fine to make fun of someone for having a disease or condition for which they can't help as long as they're rich. Just ask Christopher Reeve. Oh, sry you can't. Although, he did make for a pretty histerical South Park episode.
Oh and I guess it's ok because as we all know money buys happiness and respect so we needn't worry our poor struggling little souls for her.

I think she looks fine. It's cruel how people keep hounding her about her weight, and even if she has a problem, that only makes it worse.
I think she looked fine two or three years ago. Now she looks like she has a disease. But yeah, I can't imagine the pressure of having my weight questioned on the cover of every tabloid magazine in the grocery store. Makes me glad I'm not famous.
disease or not, that girl needs to put on some weight.
when you see that pic up close, the bottom of that swimsuit is way too big for her, and her muscles look as though they're wasting away. the girl needs help.

first of all, she constantly denies that she has any sort of eating disorder. just because someone makes fun of you for being skinny doesn't mean you get to decide that you suddenly have a disease.
and second, no, we needn't worry our poor struggling souls for her. you compared a light-hearted gossip story to making an autistic kid cry, and then compared her to christopher reeve, which is completely ludicrous. if i'm worried about anything i'm worried for the little girls that look up to her for how they're supposed to look and act, which is apparently clinically underweight and falling down drunk.
She looks ill. Anorexia Nervosa has about a 20% death rate. That doesn't mean you can't make jokes about it, but I haven't seen any funny jokes about it yet.

Yeah, admittedly I don't know shit about her.
Don't really feel like I need to.
One look at those pictures is enough to see she's got quite a serious problem.
Where she's at with her acceptance of that, or how much money she sleeps on is not really relevant.
For someone to think it's ok to heckle her with insults like " eat a sandwich" or " gain some weight " is pretty unthinkable to me. disgusting really.
Maybe I'd feel better about it if I got to know her.
If people followed you around with cameras all day and yelled at you " lose some weight ! " I'm sure you'd feel it was just a little " light-hearted gossip " Dove

I honestly don't understand how people feel pitty for the bourgeois. Especially when their is so much actual tragedy happening on a day to day basis.
Yeah... because once someone has some money, they become totally worthless as human beings, right?
Theres a lot of societal problems that come to the forefront of the media, thus society, because a rich person either A: is directly affected by the problem, or B: decides to become involved with it. Don't bag on rich people because they are rich, bag on them if they truly deserve it.

It really has nothing to do with pity.
It has to do with respect for others.
Maybe, just perhaps, there might not be so much actual tragedy on a daily basis if people could muster just a slightly decent modicum of respect for one another.
