To fans of Tegan & Sara, it may seem like it's been a quick rise from unknown indie band to one with a respectable following. But to Tegan & Sara it has been a long, hard road with many artistic rewards along the way. One of their most recent rewards is that they are finally putting out a DVD. It's Not Fun, Don't Do It!, features all of their music videos, a full length concert, the making of their video for "So Jealous," and endless commentary by these talkative sisters/singers.
fuck yeah! I adore Tegan and Sara and have for years now. They're amazing and I'm so happy to see that you were able to interview them. They're both great girls. I'm also very happy to see that you asked Sara about being gay. It's definately the first interview I have read where it was actually spoken, rather than just refered to. Thanks, I loved reading it
Awesome, I love to see my hometown girls getting some action.
It is a little weird that she started answering the question about sg by talking about teenage prostitutes though.
So happy to see an interview that didn't sidestep issues about their sexuality. As expressed, sexuality shouldn't be the central concern here, but because so many people are reluctant to talk about it, but remain eager to write about it, misrepresentation has permeated so many of the interviews and reviews I've read about Tegan and Sara's, as well as their music. Well done for turning out an interview with more insight and integrity.
It also doesn't hurt that they're both so lovely.
I'm not a shy girl..usually, but at any of their concerts I've always been too tongue tied to even say a word to them.
i actually got a chance to interview sara for my school newspaper back in 2002. she's a fucking sweetheart. and, even though it was my first interview ever, her laid back and chill manner is enough to make anyone feel comfortable.
Such a good band and such awesome people. I saw them recently in Edinburgh and they handled an, admittedly well-inentioned, heckler with grace and good humour, so they get kudos for that in my book. Excellent interview too.
