I remember in High School thinking the entire band was gay. My first thought when I saw the news was "well...duh". My second thought a few seconds later was "Good for him; no one should have to hide who they are". And so, N'Sync still sucks; but good for Lance for coming out of the closet. I wish him the best.
Fine story but I don't understand why "coming out" in the media is a big deal. I understand being true to yourself, being yourself, but why must there be a press release about your orientation? Bass's quote "I am not ashamed." Good, don't be, but why must the media be your therapy?! Honestly, why not be gay, tell people you're gay when they ask and leave it at that? Like Oprah holding a press conference saying she isn't gay... who gives a fuck?! I love Ellen Degeneres but coming out on her show ruined it... it became about being gay instead of a show about a gay woman.
If this is Lance finally being true to himself, good for him. I hope he accepts himself now. I'm just tired of sexual orientation, race and politics of rich, famous people being important. Most of the time it's not about coming to terms with oneself and more about selling... something.
I had no professional interest in him before and I still don't.
But, seriously, could they have dressed and posed him any gayer?

I'm trying to remember a name-Lance/gay quote from the Simpsons and just can't do it...
Edit:
Homer: They turned the Navy into a floating joke. They ruined all our best names like Bruce and Lance and Julian. Those were the toughest names we had! Now they're just...
John: Queer?
Homer: Yeah, and that's another thing! I resent you people using that word. That's our word for making fun of you! We need it!
Oooooh...one of my favorite episodes! HOT STUFFFFF COMMMIN THROUGH!
