my friend and i are going all over europe starting next month and ending when we dont have enough money for food, all we have planned is a one way ticket to london and a eurorail pass. we sold everything we own in the states and have nothing to fall back on so..if anyones done this before, or anyone thats around in europe and could give us some pointers
OR, of course you could try Couchsurfing!
CouchSurfing.com helps you make connections worldwide. You can use the network to meet people and then go and surf other members' couches! When you surf a couch, you are a guest at someone's house. They will provide you with some sort of accommodation, a penthouse apartment or maybe a back yard to pitch your tent in. Stays can be as short as a cup of coffee, a night or two, or even a few months or more. When you offer your couch, you have complete control of who visits. The possibilities are endless and completely up to you.
I went to Prague (Czech Republic), Krakow (poland), Budapest (Hungary), Split (Croatia) and also I've been to most of Italy so if you are going to any of these places I can let you know whats cool to do!

thanks! we're planning on going just about every major city in europe and allot of small random places. we dont exactly have funds for staying in hostels so were just sleeping wherever, on the train, or camping
as for the way home ...i dont plan on coming home, were just going to figure it all out and after we're done we're going to settle down in a monastery town in Tibet, well thats the plan atleast
we are going to barcelona sometime between july and aug after we go through italy. ive got a connection in lisbon portugal to work as a bus boy in a seaside bar for however long so if im ever dying i can jet over there for some $$
mostly were going to just write, and take pictures, experiment with noise, and experience the moment rather then planning everything out. hopefully ill be able to get some art done somewhere and be able to sell that, if not we could always be street musicians..
a friend of mine and I are doing something more or less similar to this beginning july 5th and ending in early august. the whole couchsurfing thing sounds brilliant.
Im heading home after doing basically the same thing. Im dirt poor, have no money left and I am REALLY glad that I booked an open return flight home...

Sounds like Couchsurfing might be a good way for you guys to geta orund then cause its free!!!!!!!!!!
i don't know about all off Europe but iv heard off people in small quaint little English towns without much money going and sleeping at the police stations. just go and tell them you don't have money for a hostel and you want to sleep in the drunk tank. if know one is in there yet they would probably let you in. even give you breakfast. I never did it. But i have heard off it being dun. good luck!

They will ask to see your return ticket to the US in London before you are allowed out of the airport, I think. A return ticket is a substitute for a visa in many countries.
Please rethink the Tibetan part. Consider the effect you would have on the monks already there and realize that you will not be allowed to stay, or probably even enter the country since the Chinese control it. They suppress Buddhism. Hence the "Free Tibet" bumperstickers.
Teaching English in Eastern Europe or anything else would be a better end plan (with the return ticket in hand.)
i've been in europe for the last 3 months and had a blast. i'm heading to asia now for another 3 months. it'll be the time of your life.
the only problem with teaching english in eastern europe is that they pay peanuts. i've got a friend doing it in prague and she doesn't save much money beyond rent, food and beer.
