Hmmm. Bad timing for a lot of people. Does anyone in the San Francisco area have anything going on for the weekend of July 6th and 7th?
I get to return home to SF then but return to the barren scorched plains of Arizona on the 8th. Would be nice to hook up with some SG action before I have to pick up my sentence again. I'll post a new thread to see if we can gather a group.

Good idea doc. Maybe we could even arrange a trip sometime. My sister lives in SF and owns a big ole' house. I think a buncha peeps could crash there if need be.

as a true southerner bred on pig-pickens and pig-cookers, i'm interested as to what SF bbq would be like ... ? what manner of bbq sauce is used? is it a freshly killed hog?

knowing numerous hog farmers back home would generally be all we needed to be able to a cook a hog that was wandering around in complete oblivion no more than 24 hours earlier.

i was responsible for the preparing of the sauce for any function my family would host and, yes indeed, i think i make a damned good one. it's vinegar based, with loads of cayenne pepper, mustard and a bit of a seasoning we had back home called 'southern pride.' goddamn, it's some good stuff.

<sigh>

there ARE some things i miss about NC.
