If you're looking to get into SGLA (or SGLBC or SGOC) here's some events you might want to consider attending. It's so we can meet you and know that you're not a creepy lurker and you can meet us and know that we're awesome in our own special way.
so post here and let us know if you're coming out so we can try to meet you.
and people who are already members in the groups can post here so the new members know who to look for.
please remember that if you're going out to meet new people at dinner, bring money to pay. i know it sounds obvious but we've had problems before and we WILL take your thumbs.
Also, if you come out, try to find one of us and say hi. Simply being in the same place as us doesn't count as "meeting" us, and you're going to have to make that effort if you want to get into the group. Also, upload a photo so we know what you look like when you RSVP to the events, and start a journal so we can leave comments telling you how awesome it was to meet you.
--------------------------------- UPCOMING EVENTS:
Monthly Public Meet-Up (dinner and drinks)
WHEN: Last-ish Tuesday of the month (keep an eye on the end of the thread) WHERE: 1739 Public House.
Our monthly event is moving again, and this time we're heading over to 1739 Public House. They've got a tremendous beer selection, a full bar, and a wide variety of food for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
So come meet up with SGLA for some stiff drinks and/or delicious food. We'll meet up at 8:30 and stay much later. Show up whenever you want, stay as long as you like. Parking shouldn't be hard to come by on a Tuesday, but be sure to get a ride if you're going to drink. There's also a Metro Red Line station about a block away at Sunset and Vermont, buses that go right past the place on Vermont, and you can always take a cab.
There might be more! Look at the end of the thread!
What's that? You can't possibly make it? Fear not! You just have to put a little more effort into it, so we know you mean it. Check out SGOC and SGLBC and see if they have any events coming up, and make friends with those kids, then just get one of them to vouch for how fucking awesome you are and we'll let you into SGLA.
Can't make it to OC? Well, you're not entirely screwed, but you're probably going to be waiting for awhile. Sometimes we have open events that aren't regular things. Keep an eye on this thread. If there are any open events, they'll be here.
There's one tonight in Long Beach. Technically, it's an event for SGLBC, but there's a lot of crossover, so if you meet people there you can get vouched into SGLA.

Indeed. Come on out, everyone. The weather is too nice to be sittin' at home. I don't have a smartphone to check online so when you do get there, just look for me.
I work for carlton hair in Orange county.
I'm doing free haircuts with a free product to take home next week Tuesday through Saturday between 1030 and 330
Must be a girl, and have above shoulder length haor or willing to cut it that short
You will get the cut you want it just has to be that length.
Message me if you would like to come in

Which doesn't even have anything to do with Los Angeles, let alone SGLA, but thanks!

It's April and I wanna party, where u at SGLA?
It's a busy, crazy month outside of SG for a lot of the really active SGLA'ers, but I'm hoping to get back to having regular events of some sort starting in May.
If you're having trouble making it into an SGLA event, you might want to take the sage-like wisdom that bean doled out in the original post and try to make it out to an SGOC event instead. We've been pretty good about organizing dinners and whatnot lately. (:
As much as I'd like to join SGLA, I don't think I can be a very active member due to how busy I get at work. At least 5 days a week with 12 hour days, and my remaining time off is spent with my fiancee. So maybe I can offer this:
Does anyone need to rent a car?
I work at Hertz rent-a-car, located at 361 N La Brea (between Beverly and Melrose) in Los Angeles. I've only been working there for about 3 months, but I'm familiar enough with how things work to where I can personally offer great deals to people who want to rent a car for the hell of it. Cars, vans, trucks, SUVs, convertibles, luxury cars, Escalades, whatever.
If anyone at all is interested in renting a car, send me a message. It can be for next week, middle of summer, or end of the year. Rent it for 2 days or 2 months. You can return it back to La Brea, or take it on a one way trip to wherever you wanna go. I'll give you some numbers to work with so you can get an idea of what it would cost, and then after that it's up to you if you want to make a reservation or not.

I'll be moving to Torrance in May, will be on the lookout for some events. I know one person in LA, so it will be nice to meet some folks.

Will there be a monthly public meet-up the last Tuesday of this month (the 26)? Last one I saw posted here was January. Thx! And it looks like neither SGLBC nor SGOC have a link for their public events, unlike SGLA.
