It was really super easy and now I can participate in CD exchanges and so forth without having to worry about who is really getting my address. You guys should get one if that sort of thing interests you at all.

Rentals are offered for six months or a year and you'll need to bring two forms of ID (one with photo; no credit cards) that show proof of address. I paid $24 for a six month rental on the smallest available box.

only problem is when you get packages - and you have to go to the counter to pick them up/sign - and you can't get to post office during business hours (8-4)- so you have wait for weekends - and UPS doesnt deliver to them

I would be remiss if I didn't point out that Clara has a small box.

You left one problem out... most times when you get the smallest PO Box, magazine covers always seem to get ripped and they really don't take extra care that your items aren't bent/whatever...

I know this because I have a key to check my friend's PO Box and her mail always is messed up.

I'm guessing you've never been stalked, then. It's sucky. Precautions are nice.

See what I mean about stalkers? And this is just from following me around here. Imagine if these guys had my address!

i had a friend in highschool who had a P.O. box just so he could get porn without his folks finding out. He was real enthusiastic about sex. every highschool party we were at he'd inevitably sneak some porn into the vcr. It was Awesome! Dude was a little weird though and he was always telling us about these new ways of masturbating he'd invented. One day another of my friends announced this poor masturbating genius' most recent invention story a group of ladies and embarrassed the hell out of the guy. He didn't hang out much after that, but for a while, he'd been the smartest guy I knew.

i've heard ladies on SG reference being stalked relatively often.... is this a real concern?

To my knowledge I've never been stalked by someone from SG, but I have had two creepy stalkers in my life. One of them keeps reappearing every now and again, just to remind me that she really didn't like it when I briefly dated her old roommate who hasn't actually talked to her for quite some time now. It's my fault they're not married.

I once did the math and discovered that I get 4 pieces of junk mail to real mail and 11 pieces of mail addressed to someone else than to me. Maybe a P.O. could remedy this. Kind of like e-mail. My house box could be my junk mail and my P.O. could be my inbox.

Where I live you have to have a PO box if you want to get mail. Here in the sticks we don't have fancy home delivery. We have DSL and cable and county transit, but no home mail delivery... whatever
