I'm going to be spending a couple of days down in New Mexico hanging out with my brother. He's only 20, but we need some fun, wild and crazy shit to do together while I'm there. Anybody out there got any ideas? I know I can depend on my fellow SG'ers to come up with some great stuff, so let me see it!!

Drink. A lot. That's about all there is to do here. It's kept me sane (somewhat) for the 12 years I've been here. Where are you going to be?

Ahahahahah!

You can... shop. If you're an artist, Santa Fe is awesome. If you aren't, well... at least your brother will be there.

He lives in Alamogordo with a buddy. Hooking up and making love in the desert sounds like fun, but I don't want to completely corrupt the boy. We could sure use some women though.... biggrin

Plus, there's a word for doing that kind of thing with your brother.

It's definitely gorgeous. Just not all that entertaining, otherwise.

I think you mean the Frontier. The restaurant near campus? And yes, it does rock. DEFINATELY worth a visit for a cinnamon roll or breakfast burrito alone.

Edited to say: Upper Central during the day for shopping, lower Central during the night for partying. And get to Acoma Pueblo if you can. Sky City is very cool.

I believe that there are two official State languages in New Mexico: English and Spanish.

I am an Anglo myself, but nearly have a college degree in Spanish. That's why I recommend practicing Spanish there.

I really have no clue whether the original poster knows any Spanish at all.

It's never to late to learn, though. smile

Actually I know quite a bit of Spanish, it's not quite enough to manage a complex conversation, but it got me by in New Mexico. I've been told that when I'm really tan I could pass for a Mexican. Of course I had some hair when I was told that. I had a great time down there and I took a shit-load of pictures, some of which I posted in my journal. Thanks to everybody who posted with some ideas. smile
