And don't Morgan and I get nerd points for involving a D&D book in our set?

My god...someone with a bigger Star Trek collection than me...that is unbeliveably hot!
However, since going to Star Trek: The Experience is my favourite memory of my trip to Las Vegas, I must ask that I too be considered for many nerd points.

Long live nerds/geeks/dorks!

Gibert: She's not that kind of girl, Booger.

Booger: Why? Does she have a penis?

Booger: This is bullshit - I want BUSH!

I must say, I'm a little disappointed. I think most of the people posting are geeks, not nerds. Not to hate or anything. I just think that a clarification needs to be made. Nerds are brainy individuals who know lots of obscure facts and are really learned in at least one particular field of study. These fields include (but are not limited to) math, physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, medicine, and literature. A geek is a person who is obsessed with a certain genre of entertainment. This includes, but is not limited to, Star trek, Star Wars, D & D, music, movies, tv shows, etc. A person can be geeky about nerdy things, and a person can be considered nerdy about geeky things if he/she studies in a very nerdy manner about said geeky topic. I personally am a geeky nerd. I am geeky about math and most sciences in that I make esoteric jokes about those topics. I am a nerd because I am getting my B.S. in Mathematics in a couple of weeks. I am receiving said degree from a nerdy institution (RPI) that is known for housing an abundant level of geeks.
I know this may be confusing, as many times the two are almost interchangeable. However, in my opinion, a nerdy thread should be about people who excel in math, sciences, medicine, or even literature.
Once again, I mean no offense. I just wanted to make a clarifying statement. I have nothing against either geeks or nerds, as I am both.
I wish you all a wonderful day.

I am very nerdy. I know lots of stuff, which isn't useful unless I go on Jeopardy or something. But I have a degree in Literature and I'm an old skool gamer.
I am a geek about certain tv shows & movies (The Simpsons comes to mind immediately) but I'm not a techie.

Yay for labels & categorization!

I think feeling the need to strictly define what is geeky and what is nerdy is kind of pointless, picky, and to be honest kind of annoying.

I think this is just your way of bragging about your B.S.

"Not a source" blahblahblah but the Wiki entries for geek and nerd are pretty similar, definition-wise.

A B. S. does not a nerd make. In fact, I think you've either got to go higher or lower than a BS, educationwise, to really be getting into nerdy. Mmmm. More categories.

I am a math nerd, with a lot of knowledge in general sciences (physics, bio, chem, psyche, etc.), and am probably one of the biggest movie geeks out there.
