What about his chin strap thing? I'm judging him based on that. I don't run any groups but that would be a dealbreaker.

Yes ma'am, I meet all requirements.
You've been here 3 years, but only have 39 comments and 2 friends, so no sir, you don't.
As it so happens, I am recently (essentially) divorced and lost the majority of my "family & friends" in the process. Consequently, I find myself trying to build a new life from what little outside interests that I have. So, no the majority of the time I've been a member, I had no time for new people, my dance card was full, my cup runeth over, etc... Now I find myself lonely most of the time, and will probably remain that way 'till I can make some new friends. It's like moving to a new city, or living in a bubble for 15 years.
No one is asking for an explanation on why you comment so little. You can comment as much or as little as you want. However, your blogs and comment history and friends list are the only thing group owners have to figure out whether or not you might be a creepy weirdo. I'm sure you understand why that's particularly important in a regional group.
Correct. Having a few journals and a handful of comments isn't enough for a regional or private group owner to go on most of the time.
Be patient, keep posting around the site, and if you're not a douche you'll start getting accepted into the appropriate private groups.
If you ARE a douche, chances are the group owner or group members will vote not to let you into said group.
If you're just starting off on the wrong foot, make a point of making future posts less douchey and over time you'll gain acceptance as someone who just started off awkwardly (hey, a lot of us have been there) and you'll have proven yourself able to learn good conduct on the site, meaning you'll be able to contribute to the groups you join rather than adding a negative element to them.

That's my goal. I started off rough. Real rough. Don't be like me.
