Happy Australia Day guys! I'm partying down with my huntsmen bros (true story, I have about 12 living in my house, I won't let my fella kill them) and amphibious jellyfish and drop bears, and we're all eating our national animals.
Hey Everyone,
Another new member here. Living in Melbourne.
Known about SG for years and finally scummed to the sugesstions on the FB page to sign up.
As for nasty critters. Now I know it's not exclusively Australian and lives anywhere between Japan and Northern Tassie but no one has mentioned the Blue Ringed Octopus. BRO
Little shits can mess you up quite quickly.
I grew up in Tassie and lived in Geevston in the logging country for a few years with Tiger Snakes, Copper Heads wandering through the backyard and Red Backs under anything they could find that was dry and undisturbed.
Clearly remember my little brother standing at the back door as a 3yo going look mum big worm as a snake made it's way past the shed to the creek behind us.
I was up in the Pilbara last week... nearly stepped on two different snakes. Both of them highly venomous! I was nowhere near any medical facilities and in a gully where the Royal Flying Doctor Service would have been unable to get to me.
Oh how I love Australia and living here.
during the main part of summer(dec - jan) i would see 2 or 3 a week, tigers and dugites mainly, occasional little ones at night that come to sit on the warmth of the brickwork of the veranda, there always small an thin, not sure what sort they are but their always really angry, i usually scoop them up in a bucket and put them in some trees somewhere.
i know there poisonous but to small to bite anywhere except if you had tiny fingers...or toes
