So...I just rejoined SG....it was 2004 or so since I was last active. So......any anyone wanna be my friend?

Haha...ok...so I'm not really desperate for friends or anything (shhh). Just trying to start up some conversations with peoples. I mean, see how many people have responded to my original comment already.

I'm in the same boat. All of my previous friends have since let their accounts lapse.

I was looking for a newbies board or something I can post in the meet new people, but I guess this will have to do.

One way to make friends on SG is to notice other members who seem interesting or intelligent, or who have common interests with you, and just start talking to them. You can reply to their posts on the boards or in groups, or post comments on their journal. If they respond, you can try sending them a friend request, but this works best if you get a half way decent interaction going first.

One of the best ways to interact with other members on SG is to find and join groups about subjects that interest you. There are a lot of different groups, so it should be pretty easy to find a few that sound potentially cool. There's actually a group called No Friends that's for people who want to get more SG friends. Also, if you've been a member for less than two months, you're automatically a member of the SG Newbies group, and you can check out the action in there.

Here on the Hook-Up board, there used to be a general "introduce yourself" thread, but no one's posted on it for a long time. I guess it could be resurrected.

Also, be sure to check out the "must read information" in wingsie's post earlier in this thread. In fact, her post is also great summary of what I just said.
